Guest RabidBillsFanVT Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflas..._4279_db045.htm 6894[/snapback] Good article... it all comes down to the fact that they are both politicians, and they are skilled at bending things to suit their agendas. We have no other choice, really.. it'[s one of two people. Might a Johnson who was less keen to gild his reputation as a man of action been more wary of Indochina's swamp? Might he have thought twice about misrepresenting what happened -- or rather, didn't happen -- in the Gulf of Tonkin as his excuse to escalate a war that should never have been fought? Sounds VERY familiar... 1964 vs. 2003. THAT'S why History is so very important... all of this manipulation to start a war has been done TIME and TIME again, and we still fall for it. Sad, real sad.
