Neat concept, even if it's just lip service. Smart. Think Dickie Boy would still be here? Of course though, then the Bills jinx kicks in again, and we'd probably hire the fired D-coordinator in New Orleans, or someone else unproven and mediocre at best, as the new head coach. But the combination of self-destructing down the stretch, not being liked be several players, and fan animosity toward him were too much. Of course, that same situation (minus the players love affair) is playing out in Buffalo, yet no move is made to fire the coach and GM. In all seriousness, the Glazer's want to win, but they're also 35M+ beneath the cap, have an aging defense, with a QB situation which seems untenable. This is why the Glazers will never shake their rep as being a laughing stock around the league. Oh, and by the way, compare the Bucs to the Steelers: All-Pro safety Troy Polamalu credits that mind-set to self-imposed discipline, something the older Steelers players make certain every new teammate accepts. "The leaders on our team -- James Farrior, Deshea Townsend, Hines Ward -- they understand what it takes to be successful. What it takes is obediency," Polamalu said. "We're a very obedient team. You could tell us to do anything [and] we'll do it, if our head coach tells us to do it -- whether it's good or not. That obediency allows us to be closer together."
