Gene Frenkle Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Certainly you don't believe what you post or are you really that ignorant? Well, I guess I would consider myself a liberal and I can only speak for myself. Do as you like.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 You can't compare Clinton with Bush for protecting America. If you want to say Clinton was better for the economy, then fine. If you want to say the charismatic charm of Clinton wasn't as divisive, fine. But Bush decided to take the offensive; took measures to protect the people of America by using the powers of the president in its most broadest sense...even though a lot of their ungrateful asses didn't deserve it. The Iraq war is another matter of debate. Not at all. That is one of if not the biggest reason there hasn't been an attack on America in the last seven years. Bush thought Iraq was the central front in "the War on Terror", and invaded Iraq to prevent another 9/11, saying that Saddam has WMD and either he or some terrorists that got WMD from Saddam would use them to attack America. So he went over there. But that allowed all the terrorists and Al Qaeda members to kill Americans in their backyard instead of our backyard. It's was 1000 times easier for them to kill Americans in Iraq than it was in Iowa or anywhere on our shores and in our cities. So what happened was, Bush spent a trillion dollars and cost us 4000 American lives to save 500 billion and save 3000 American lives. Nice trade. We have been attacked by terrorists in the last seven years and lost more than we tried to save.
Alaska Darin Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Limbaugh drops his guard and reveals what all conservatives want. They want America to fail. They do not love America. They don't care about its citizens. All they want is power. All they want is riches. I'll bet Limbaugh wishes terrorists attack us again too. What a fat drug-addled piece of garbage he is. Hannity and O'Reilly too. PTR You know, that argument looks just as stupid when you use it against Rush as when the partisan righty wackos used it against Pelosi/Clinton/Reid/etc.

By the way, if we do move toward socialism, there is nothing about America left to love.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Don't forget we wiped out the Taliban first. Iraq came later. And should have. But the Taliban posed no threat to the United States itself. They were rightfully wiped out for allowing Al Qaeda to have camps in Afghanistan, which was a direct threat to the United States and could have produced another 9/11 if just allowed to continue business as usual. That was obviously a direct retaliation. Iraq was a choice.

JPDontletthedoorhityourars Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 That's not what he said. Shall I post the transcript? What's that spinning sound? PTR I didn't read the article. I saw the interview. He clearly stated he hoped Obama failed if his policies went far to the left. But he also said he hoped he would work from the center. BTW, have you heard O'Reilly lately? I watch him every night. He is mildy on the right and moving left every day.
DrFishfinder Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 The difference being that Stern tries to be stupid and is paid to be stupid, and even thinks himself that he is stupid. Rush tries to be smart and thinks he's paid to be smart, and actually does think he's smart. I don't pay attention to either one, regardless of their particular schtick. They're both Howard Cosell's in that they don't care if you hate them or like them, as long as you pay attention to them. Whether they're acting "stupid" or acting "smart" is irrelevant.
Fingon Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 That's not what he said. Shall I post the transcript? What's that spinning sound? PTR Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails." maybe you need to read.

Bravo!
JPDontletthedoorhityourars Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Well said....and less than 400 words! Bravo! The consequences would be far reaching. The government would get the first dividend payouts. So we pay the tax increase for the debt to bail them out plus they make money on any profits the private sector USE to earn.
Adam Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails So is this just Rush spewing crap to further incense his retarded listeners or is he really so blinded by his own partisanship, enormous personal bankroll and ego that he thinks it's OK for America to lie on the mat for another four years? Actually, who cares - I just don't see how anybody can truthfully buy into the hypocritical sh-- that this guys spews on a daily basis. I admit that I listen to him from time to time for the entertainment value, but I also know that some here are devoted listeners who mostly treat his word as gospel. A tiger truly can't change his stripes. Why should he change he stripes. He gets ratings. I think libs listen to him more than conservatives....which is funny

Problem is 3 of those 4 (banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business) were bailed out before the Big O entered the game. So, how is Obama going to be more socialistic than the previous administration? He may be as socialistic, but do we have to pretend the previous Administration didn't start the ball rolling?

No, we don't. The republicans have failed us too. True conservatives say let the market crash and burn...it will eventually revive itself through entrepreneurialship which is what the bailout stifles.
Dan Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 No, we don't. The republicans have failed us too. True conservatives say let the market crash and burn...it will eventually revive itself through entrepreneurialship which is what the bailout stifles. Therein lies the problem. Once the cat's out of the bag, it's hard to put it back in. You give several hundred million to some of the wealthiest individuals and businesses in the country, but you don't give any to low income and small business? Yet we rushed into the first bailout anyway. Talk about a mess.

Hannity's brain is continually skipping alternately between the phrases 'You are a great American' and 'America is the greatest, best country God has ever given man on the face of the Earth'. It's nearly a miracle that he can spit out anything else with this constant intense bombardment of catch-phrase patriotism.

He is clearly a man of sketchy moral character, and yet he sees himself as something of a moral compass for society. The funniest part is that he legitimately doesn't seem to see the irony.

Gene Frenkle Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 We got it--you hate America. You hate patriots. You hate God. But you love terrorists and gays. I don't equate Limbaugh, O'Reilly and Hannity to America or patriotism no matter how deluded you may have become by listening to them. Nor do I have any particular love for terrorists or gays. My religious beliefs are none of your business, but let's just say it's hard to hate something that doesn't exist. I do, however, love my country and I don't need to listen to Toby Keith, buy a gun every week, go to church, bash gays, hunt terrorists, patrol the border for Mexicans or wave an American flag for all to see to make my case. You're free to think whatever you like my man...
