The Senator Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 does "A League Of Their Own" count as a chick flick? I love that movie and will watch it anytime it is on Hanks at his best...
Steely Dan Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Some Like it Hot was a pretty funny movie Some like it hot is a very funny movie! Marilyn Monroe too!! When Harry met Sally, Thelma and Louise and A League of Their Own (There's no crying in baseball!!!!!) I demonstrated to a female friend once in a BBV that I could tell her the whole plot of "The wedding planner" just by looking at the cover box. She had already seen it and I was 90% right.
Just Jack Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I like the movies where you've got a lot of different stories going on and how they all are intertwined. Plus it has a great soundtrack, we used a couple songs from it for our wedding/reception.

DC Tom Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Notting Hill. And The Devil Wears Prada. And Pride & Prejudice (the most recent one, with Keira Knightley)...though I'm not positive that counts as a "chick flick" per se.
DC Tom Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Pretty Woman count? Absolutely. I think any Julia Roberts movie counts, save Ocean's Eleven.
Kevin Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Failure to Launch, Sweet Home Alabama, Knocked Up (if it counts) and The Wedding Singer.... My wife just blurted out Princess Bride too.....
KD in CA Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Pretty Woman count? Gee, I wonder. Maybe your vagina knows. I second the Wedding Singer. I love the whole spoof on the 80s.
BuffaloBill Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Gee, I wonder. Maybe your vagina knows. I second the Wedding Singer. I love the whole spoof on the 80s. Sorry, while Wedding Singer is funny but does not qualify as a chick flick. Try "The Holiday" on for size.
Fezmid Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I second the Wedding Singer. I love the whole spoof on the 80s. Oh yeah, that one's great too! "It's a CD player!" "Oooh, let me go get our albums!"
BuffaloBill Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Oh yeah, that one's great too! "It's a CD player!" "Oooh, let me go get our albums!" See above!!!!
The Poojer Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Inconceivable!!!!! My wife just blurted out Princess Bride too.....
BuffaloBill Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 The Long, Hot Summer I have never seen this one.
ans4e64 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Failure to Launch,Sweet Home Alabama, Knocked Up (if it counts) and The Wedding Singer.... My wife just blurted out Princess Bride too..... I like that movie, so consider that mine.
Tcali Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 My wife and I have a tradition of alternating selections when we go to the movies. She will almost always select a drippy, chick flick (Although one time she chose "Gladiator" believing it was a love story ever since, I have "owed" her). I feel it is my duty to all men to whine and complain about her choices. However, once and a while they are pretty good movies. I have to admit that "Something's Gotta Give" is mine. I laughed my arze off. So men of the TSW what is your favorite "chick flick?" (Ladies - what is your favorite "guy movie?") fried green tamatas
