buckeyemike
Pour Some Sugar on me. You're calling the greatest strip club anthem of all time gay? My pick is this one. I'm surprised no one has mentioned her yet, considering she's now a gay icon. Damn Celine Dion! Another one is "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go". Someone already mentioned that, but it reminds me of what Denis Leary said about George Michael: "I figured out he was gay fifteen seconds into that video. It took everyone else fifteen years." Old, yes, but gay, definitely not. GL is a classic. I would have to say anything by Elton John. I like his music, even though I'm aware that some of it is pretty gay. I can't believe I just admitted that. Here's a toast to internet anonymity.

Bullpen
Sundown, Gordon Lightfoot. Dude... I guess we all have different "gay-tolerances" because I don't consider my man GL gay at all. In fact, I have his greatest hits and a few of his songs on my IPOD. To each his own I guess. Someone here probably took exception to my New Edition suggestion. I actually bought Gordon Lightfoot's greatest hits CD about 8 mo's ago. GL had some great songs... Sundown, If You Could Read My Mind, Edmund Fitzgerald, and Early Morning Rain. Great Stuff. Again, it's not "gayest song", it's "gayest song you can't turn off". Sure, I could say Elton John's "Crocodile Rock", or Motley Crue's "Without You", or Bon Jovi's "I'll Be There For You"...but I have no problem turning those off. And let's face it...while Gordon Lightfoot isn't quite the poster boy for '70s pussified folk rock, he's ain't far off.

Elton John, it makes you see the meaning of an album called Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy We all over looked that one...definitely good tunes. Da Big Man
"All I Wanna Do Is Put a Bullet In You..." Yeah, that's extremely gay. However, the thread title isn't just "gay songs", it's "gay songs you can't turn off". I really don't have a problem turning that one off. On further consideration...I have to go with "Peg" by Steely Dan. I thought it as " All I wanna do is eat cheese fondue."

Pete
Still, nothing gayer than the Dan: http://www.theonion.com/content/news/donal...s_steely_dan_to Even after his acquaintances roundly dismissed Steely Dan as "kitty music," Fagen vehemently maintained that the band has contributed significantly to the rock and roll genre, and described his and Becker's unorthodox instrumentation choices and song arrangements as "bold." "God forbid someone take a chance by having more than three chord changes in a song," Fagen said. "You can't just write it all off as 'sh------- jazz fusion' because there are a few horns in the band. And what about 'Bodhisattva' and 'Show Biz Kids' on Countdown To Ecstasy? Don't sit there and tell me that those tunes don't rock." Though Fagen remains loyal to Steely Dan and more or less has reverence for the band's entire catalog, he said that he is the first to admit the shortcomings of the music. "No one knows better than I do that this stuff can get extremely self-indulgent," Fagen said. "And, yes, I realize that all the preciousness and apparent awe at its own cleverness can be a little too much to stomach sometimes. Hell, some of Gaucho is even too goddamned smooth for me." "It's no Dire Straits, I'll give you that," Fagen added.
