major
Three out of the four teams left in this NFL final four have a great run defense and they run the ball well. Arizona might be the exception; however, even they are trying to run the ball more in the playoffs. I wonder when the Bills brass will figure out this simple equation. You can rehash conventional wisdom with the best of them. But don't you hate it when facts get in the way? Rush offense ranking of the four remaining teams: 4, 22, 23, 32. Pass offense ranking of the four remaining teams: 2, 6, 17, 28.
Hossage
I agree, we need to blitz and stop the run. I dont have the energy list this teams faults, but a dozen that I can clearly picture presently come to mind. Our entire philosophy, on both sides of the ball, sucks. I would feel more comfortable with the coaches from Orchard Park High School. I mean that literally. Their guys play with excellent fundamentals. Their coaches know how to run the ball. We are the most predictable team in the NFL. Our receivers never run a route the same way twice. Watch a game in slow motion and see if you can predict where a receiver will end up. Edwards cant, and neither can I. But the patriots and the colts do it the same every time. Consider the wealth of orthodox coaching strategies rarely or not utilized by our coaches: Counter plays, trap plays, straight isolation dives, wing-t type of misdirection plays, outside running in general ( I saw a couple tosses to freddy). That leaves a very small amount of run plays. Our coaches inexplicable bungling of clock management, ridiculous playbook, astonishing predictability, flawed philosophy, and lack of emotion will combine to demoralize next years team too.
