Erik Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 What about L.J. Smith? He's got all the talent in the world, he's an East Coast kid but he's always injured. He would definitely bring an added dimension to the offense and we may be able to get him on the cheap since he is coming off of an injury riddled season. Is he worth it?

I think LJ would be a solid pick up for us and could come at a very reasonable price. With him and Fine I think we would be solid at TE and it would allow us to focus on other areas in the draft and FA. Not my first choice, but not a bad one either.
rackemrack Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 deffinitely an upgrade. if we could get him for the right price it would be stupid not to try.
rackemrack Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Lazy and always hurt. but more talented than robert royal
nucci Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 but more talented than robert royal Yes, but what good is he if he doesn't play? I am in Philly and he has done nothing this year and they wont miss him.
bschmoove Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I watched LJ for the four years I lived in South Jersey. Standard underachiever. Of course having balls thrown at your feet half ther time doesn't help ...

Is he worth it? not a fan anymore, he is always injured and tends to drop the ball a lot...he also made 4.5 mil this year so I wouldnt expect him to come too cheap
Erik Posted January 11, 2009 Author Posted January 11, 2009 not a fan anymore, he is always injured and tends to drop the ball a lot...he also made 4.5 mil this year so I wouldnt expect him to come too cheap I'm just a little skeptical of drafting a TE in the first round as that always seems like a crap shoot...not sure what other options we have in free agency. It is a huge hole to fill.
LynchMob23 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 We don't have to draft a TE in round one - there are going to be guys like James Casey (Cooley version 2) or Jared Cook that will be there in 2 or 3 and we can snap up if we just want to do the Y-open stuff that the colts do with Dallas.
Dante Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 He's always hurt. I know, he was my starting TE for fantasy team. Needless to say that was the weakest position on my team. I actually ended up starting Robert Royal in more games than I would like to admit. So what does that tell yah/
billieve420 Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 We can't afford to sign a player who will be on the injured list and unavailable to play the majority of the time.
John Adams Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 He sucks and as to his "talent," it's never shown itself in the NFL. He's a quitter and I have no interest. The Eagles think he's a joke and he is.
Jim in Anchorage Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Just enjoy the game on right now and forget about the stupid Bills for 30 seconds.
nucci Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 Just enjoy the game on right now and forget about the stupid Bills for 30 seconds. Right, because no one here can watch a game and type at the same time.
BuffaloBill Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 We can't afford to sign a player who will be on the injured list and unavailable to play the majority of the time. Robert Royal has not been injury prone yet he is unavailable to play well the majority of the time.

robkmil Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Just enjoy the game on right now and forget about the stupid Bills for 30 seconds. your in the message board that relates to the Bills--why wouls you say that--or if that's not what you want to discuss why are you here?
TheMadCap Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 It's pretty damn pathetic when LJ Smith is an upgrade at TE...
