bernie
This is someone the Bill's should look at. We need a real OC. Singletary working to fill coaching spotComment Email Print Associated Press SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Former St. Louis Rams coach Scott Linehan is interviewing with 49ers coach Mike Singletary for a job as San Francisco's offensive coordinator. NFC West ESPN.com's Mike Sando writes about all things NFC West in his division blog. • Network: NFL Nation Linehan was fired by the Rams midway through this season after going 11-25, but the veteran coach has a history of success in building NFL offenses in Minnesota and Miami. San Francisco also interviewed Indianapolis receivers coach Clyde Christensen earlier Friday. Christensen was Tampa Bay Bucaneers's offensive coordinator before spending the last seven seasons with the Colts. Singletary fired Mike Martz late last month after San Francisco (7-9) finished its sixth consecutive losing season. The Niners are looking for their seventh offensive coordinator in seven seasons. Albany,n.y.
What part of Dick Jauron & his assistants have been retained don't you understand? This is as useful as saying : What are we going to do with the 1st pick in the NFL draft? We are not hiring a new offensive coordinator & we don't have the #1 pick in the draft. bernie
True but should we settle for Turk Schonert? I will take my dream over this nightmare we have now.
thewildrabbit
I'd say yes to hire him, but I doubt he would want to get paid in Chuckie Cheese tokens the Bills would offer him
The Senator
As long as you are dreaming, why settle on Scott freakin' Linehan? Why, indeed? We should settle for nothing less than... Mike Leach Imagine what Leach could do for our offense, and for young Trent - Link more Mike Not to mention what a colourful character like Leach could do for season ticket sales and for the morale of the players and fans here in Buffalo... Leach Problem is, someone else will probably offer him a HC position, which is really what Ralph should offer him...

Good concept - three problems: 1 - Too animated for Dickie and crew - Leach would have to learn how to stand there on the sidelines as though he has rigor mortis to fit in with Dick. Probably too much to ask of anyone who is alive. 2 - He would be too creative for Dick. He might not hand off to the guy that has been prone to turn the ball over when the game is on the line. He might also be prone to believe that just because something worked well in practice on Friday it might not in the poor weather conditions in the game on Sunday. 3 -With incentives his contract will pay him an average of $2MM per year. Too expensive for an assistant and even a head coach in Buffalo.
Mike in Syracuse
This is someone the Bill's should look at. We need a real OC. By all means, lets just keep running them out of town as fast as we can. Then again, we could just keep the ones we had like Gilbride. I'm sure every morning when he puts on his Super Bowl ring he chuckles thinking about the teams that have fired him.

In my ideal fantasy world, Jauron goes away and Ralph hires as our new head coach... Mike Leach The Madman of West Texas Why I want Leach
The Dean
I like Leach, and would love to try him as an OC. Unfortunately, most successful college Head Coaches want to make the jump to the NFL as a HC. For most, that's a bad move, IMO.
