Psaunders
From what I can gather based on some quick research about other NFL stadiums about two hundred acres are needed for the stadium and adjacent parking. As it has been some time since I've been to downtown Niagara Falls I was wondering is there likely to be a parcel of land available that meets this size requirement? Hate to say it but last time I was in the downtown area it would have probably helped to run a bulldozer form one end to the other anyway. I am trying to put together information for another post but it makes no sense to pursue it if land in the city of Niagara Falls would not be available. Building a stadium in NIagra Falls does not make sense, there is nothing there to draw us to build one there. If we were to build a new stadium it should be done on our waterfront of BUffalo. there is nothing on it and if we can build a stadium there it would bring life back to it. I say if we build a new one go to the waterfront and keep our practice facilties in OP. Either go to the city of BUffalo or dont move at all. Beerball
Point # 2 is spot on Rockpile... Denver has tried to throw its hat in the ring for a Super Bowl at Invesco... aside from the fact that it's not an indoor/outdoor stadium, the city couldn't handle the convention infrastructure requirements Common, didn't they host a recent Democratic National Convention? Don't they have the most advanced airport in the nation?
Beerball
Denver, the city that just hosted the Democratic convention, doesn't have the infrastructure to host the Superbowl? I don't think so. That's what I thought too. If a city can pull off a 3 ring circus like the DNC then they could certainly handle the SB! They've also got a terrific airport. That's part of the infrastructure fercryingoutloud! I think the main thing holding Denver back is all of the environmental wackos. Well, the environmental wackos and the survivalists. Well, the environmental wackos, the survivalists and the beggars. Well, the environmental wackos, the survivalists, the beggars and retards. <edit> I almost forgot the white supremicist movement. Blue Chipper
You would need major road work not just in thye bstreets surrounding Niagara Falls but another Grand Island bridge would be needed. If you were to travel from Niagara Falls to Buffalo via Grand Island traffic is slow now during rush hour. I could not imagine 70,000 people leaving a game at 4pm and trying to go through the island. Forget it- never happen. Downtown Buffalo is a much better idea. Why not use some of the steel from the casino that was started and not finished downtown? Bullpen
Common, didn't they host a recent Democratic National Convention? Don't they have the most advanced airport in the nation? Good God, you are in rare form today ain't ya? That's what I thought too. If a city can pull off a 3 ring circus like the DNC then they could certainly handle the SB! I wish I had taken the DNC into consideration before I posted this. wonder why the dnc didn't make the papers Maybe I'll just delete my original post... as Robert DiVencenzo said: "what a stupid I am." 300yrds
How much did the state pony up for the new stadium in the bronx that new yankee stadium is paid for by steinbrener. the only thing paid for by the state is water, electric, gas, and roads. things that are considered public works. the structure itself is all yankee funded. Ramius
Buffalo should build a floating stadium on Lake Erie. Of course, knowing buffalo, they'd forget to anchor it and it would take out the Peace Bridge and the grand island bridges before going over the falls. Not entirely true. The fact is, NOBODY knows where each cent went. That project has been a clusterf--k from the start. But the state has paid HUNDREDS of millions of dollars for roads, infrastructure, land acquisition, building parking ramps, etc. The Yankees completely ripped off the taxpayers of the city, county and state of New York. Of that there is no dispute.

As I wrote in a post earlier in this thread, Denver WILL NEVER have a Super Bowl because their mean temperature at the time of the Super Bowl is NOT above 50 degrees and they do not have an indoor stadium to counteract that fact. Whatever their convention situation happens to be is irrelevant.

Do you not think I know that the Mile High City has been known to get 'interesting' weather from time to time? I don't care how mean and nasty their temperatures are, Bullpen is still full of crap. Moving them there ties in all the major markets of Buffalo, Toronto and Rochester and also tourist flow. Rename them the "Niagara Bills" so they're associated with the river/area and not a city, further encouraging fans from all over to call them their own. There's tons of room in the downtown NF area for this. The only thing missing is the vision and determination to make it happen.

If in Downtown Niagara Falls, Canadians would not have to drive across the bridges. They could simply park in NF Can, and walk across the Rainbow bridge. Plenty of parking over there Sept - Dec (non tourist season) An alternative route to the game to avoid the Grand Island Bridges, Cross the Peace Bridge drive to NF Can and walk over. Finally, In the future it would be nice to have a metro rail to Niagara Falls, regardless of if there is a stadium there.
