JB_55 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Harrison ...so what are everyone's thoughts on this?
ans4e64 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I think Marvin would want to play for a team that actually matters, and not the Buffalo Bills.
lets_go_bills Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I thought we had too many small receivers, no? But still, Marvin would be a great veteran pick up and being a Syracuse alum, he's certainly no stranger to the area.
The Rev.Mattb74 ESQ. Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Harrison ...so what are everyone's thoughts on this? Harrison was drafted the same year as Keyshawn, Moulds, TO, and Muhammed. All which are out of the NFL are on their way out. Age has caught up with him, and I believe he would not be helpful to this team since even in his prime he was more of a down the field threat then someone that went over the middle. The team needs someone who will go over the middle instead of a sideline threat.

lets_go_bills Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 How is a player in Syracuse not a stranger to Buffalo? Sorry, what I meant was because he played for 'cuse, he would be familiar with the area because Syracuse is close to WNY. It's next to Rochester, which is pretty close to Buffalo.
thewildrabbit Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 He probably hit the proverbial wall if Polian wants to get rid of him.
The Dean Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 He probably hit the proverbial wall if Polian wants to get rid of him. That simply isn't the case. Polian is a terrific GM, so he doesn't hold on to players until they have nothing left. He actually committed what I feel was a blunder, by letting Faulk go and drafting Edge James. Not that James wasn't good, but at that time Faulk had plenty left and the Colts desperately needed some D. Clearly Harrison isn't what he was, and his contract is very big, Harrison is scheduled to make 9 Mil next year, 10 Mil in 2010 and even more in 2011. i can see the Colts letting Marvin go even though he has a little left in the tank.

Tortured Soul Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 His numbers, in Peyton Manning's offense, were not better than Reed's. I don't see him being an improvement.

RayFinkle Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 The Bills don't sign guys like Marvin Harrison, they sign guys like Melvin Harrison.
JB_55 Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 The Bills don't sign guys like Marvin Harrison, the sign guys like Melvin Harrison. ...f**king awesome!
IDBillzFan Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Yes, I agree with this completely. Clearly Marvin Harrison would want to leave a world in which he catches balls from Peyton Manning so he can close out his career catching balls from Trent Edwards. Christ, this is going to be one LOOOOOONG off season.
silvermike Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 The Bills don't sign guys like Marvin Harrison, the sign guys like Melvin Harrison. You're thinking of the Sabres, who drafted Keith Gretzky and Wayne Primeau. Really: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=2034 http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=11363 The Bills would pass on Marvin Harrison and instead sign nobody.
BillsPride12 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 The Bills don't sign guys like Marvin Harrison, the sign guys like Melvin Harrison. Nice one have a cold one on me
Beerball Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Harrison ...so what are everyone's thoughts on this? Well, he disappears in the playoffs, so that wouldn't be an issue.

Stussy109 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Harrison ...so what are everyone's thoughts on this? I'd rather develop steve johnson.
H2o Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Nagging injuries the last couple of years. The knee and I believe it was his elbow. He's what, 36? I think he's not a guy that we're looking for. He's played atleast 8 games a year in a dome for pete's sake. You think his body will hold up any better outside playing at the Ralph from November on? I don't see it. He's been a great WR over the years, possible HOF one day, but I'd pass on him as the Bills #2 WR next year.
