billieve420
God I hope 2 DEs don't go in the Top 10 but this is going to be a extremely deep draft. I would love to trade down and stockpile draft picks. An extra 2 and 3 could go an long way to improving this team because it is going to be difficult to attract top level FAs to this team. crazyDingo
Um, I can pick anyone? Okay. I'll take the either the tallest or shortest WR/DB available and I would like to trade my second rounder to get him, please. No, wait... is the 4th best DL on North Carolina's team available? I cant decide. Maybe a stud running back to compete with Marshawn, Freddie and Oman? I wish I had an Inner Circle or precocious daughter to help me. I always love your draft posts Astro. While I know it's very early, I think this mock is horribly off. -Three OTs in the first four picks? A bit of a stretch. -Detroit passing on a QB? They need one and QBs are what you build franchises around. -Seems high for Moreno. But Cincy needs an RB. Beanie Wells perhaps? -I don't see Seattle passing on Crabtree, not with their WR corps. Taylor Mays is probably the best player available at our spot in your mock. Some say you should just take the best player available. Mays would fill a need too, but it is tough to ignore DE. Selvie or Brown would be good. I like Greg Hardy too. The hope would be for Orakpo to fall to us. I would hate Michael Johnson, he has bust written all over him. Where's the production? BillsVet
Jermaine Gresham at this early juncture. As problematic as the defense was at times, this offense needs to give Edwards more weapons in the passing game. Gresham is a leg up on Pettigrew, and gives our young QB an option. Wilson from Gamehendge
I take Jermaine Gresham ANYWHERE! We NEED him. He is going to be a stud...look at how valuable Antonio Gates is! He won that game last night with those catches at the end, ESPECIALLY the catch where he dragged 4 guys with him to the 1st down marker. The BEST thing for this team and its young QB would be a HUGE ATHLETIC weapon at TE...Gresham has ALL the tools! If I can't take him in the 1st...I do whatever I have to do to get Rey Maualuga or Taylor Mays. They both are basically already on an NFL squad, having been playing at USC for a couple years now. They BOTH are NFL ready.
stuckincincy
-Seems high for Moreno. But Cincy needs an RB. Beanie Wells perhaps? I'm doubtful that CIN would pick a RB that high. Other needs for them, so I wouldn't count on them not grabbing a position that the Bills' are in the market for. My guess at this time is they will look at OL and (as usual for all teams), DE. They have 24 players on IR this season, so I'm sure they will be in a quandary, wondering who will return to playing health and who won't...having a bunch of injury question marks sure messes up drafting plans... They've certainly been star-crossed in RB selections. Ki-Jana Carter (who sans injury, would have been a heck of a player), '04's #1 Chris Perry and his continual injuries, '07's #2 Kenny Irons losing his career in his first pre-season game. They picked up former #4 overall Cedric Benson this season. Very impressive in all aspects - although it's iffy if he doesn't go elsewhere...twice, he's crowed about how he's so proud of himself now. He will go to the highest bidder. Still, you never know with owner Mike Brown. He infuriated then-HC Bruce Coslet by nixing Ditka's offer of his whole draft for the shot at drafting Ricky Williams. Brown insisted on Akili Smith. Now...Smith was no NFL QB...he was one tough player though, and I was happy that Mr. Potatoe Head had to peel 4 million bucks from his pocket to hand over to Akili after he was cut. Brandon
Jermaine Gresham. I'd pick him at 11 if necessary. As weak as the pass rush is, the defense overall is still adequate. The offense? To put it diplomatically, they're not so good. 25th or worse six years in a row, folks. You can't win with that and you'd think the Bills would've proven that conclusively. If they do draft a defender, however, my pick would be either BJ Raji or Everette Brown.

Joe Miner
Are we picking who we want, or who we think the Bills will take? I have no idea at this point who we should take. There's lots of good choices out there, but still lots of things to find out about each guy. So for me, I'm still undecided. My prognostication for the Bills is that they will choose: Taylor Mays S, USC

Unless the Bills fill the massive holes on their D and O-line's via FA, you just can't take a DB in the first round, even if Mays is on the board. If he falls out that far, his talent will be enticing enough for numerous teams to trade up for, but the Bills just can't pull the trigger on him. They will be tempted to and god knows Jauron will want to, but I really hope they hold off. I'm not saying Mays wouldn't fill a hole, he definitely would, I am just saying that you can have two great safeties and still not have a dominant defense. If you can't get to the QB and your linebackers are undersized, the only thing your safeties will be doing is making tackles downfield or playing in the box. Neither of those two things maximize the talent of Mays. I wish we had the luxury of picking an awesome safety like Mays, but we need to rebuild our D-Line/O-Line and find a TE in this draft. Not taking into consideration free agent signings, if we don't come away with a defensive lineman (I'll even take a DT since Stroud/Williams do not impress me for the long term), a Center/Guard and a TE in the first three rounds I will consider this draft a failure. Even if we reach for Coffman or Unger, it still is worth it. By the way, the only reason our D-Line held up this year was because of Stroud. And that guy is a huge injury liabilitiy, especially at his age. If he somehow goes down next year and only plays 7-8 games, we will have a huge issue plugging up the middle because neither Johnson nor Williams are starters.
