what is your favorite Bills memory?

Recommended Posts

Emerson, lake and Palmer. 1974. Last of the wide open R.S. concerts

I was at that concert also...Great concert.. IMHO

Favorite Bills moment was when the Bills put Jim Kelly's name on the Wall.

Then Ralph said something like "Wait Jim, there is something else"

I told the guy next to me, " Watch, they are going to retire his number"

and sure enough the Bills did....The guy next to me asked "How did you kow

that?"....Very Lucky Guess....

and then that big number 12 banner unfurled from the pressbox

side of the Stadium...

"The jury finds the defendant guilty of reminiscing about Rich stadium in a non Bills way"Happy Mr. prosecutor? Geezzz.

I's the guilty one here, Jim. I made the mistake of thinking you were capable of a legitimate/substantial/relevant post. The evidence, on all the boards, indicate you are not.

My bad.

51-3 easy...sitting under the visitor's side upper deck and the effigy of Marcus Allen wasn't too far away.

Never seen a crowd going bonkers at halftime...game over, Super Bowl...then, going down to the tunnel end zone and seeing about two dozen people from high school there, that was wild. Good times.

:worthy:

I live in VA and haven't made the pilgrimage to Buffalo yet. My favorite memory is sitting at the house watching the wildcard game against Houston. Surrounded by all of my anti-Bill family they were losing 35-3 in the 3rd. I was PISSED!!! Then it happened. Davis scored a TD, 35-10. Next up Reich hits Beebe for a 38 yard TD, 35-17. My heart began to pound as I watched Christie pull off the onside kick. My house became quiet enough to hear a pin drop except for me screaming at the television. Next up was the touchdown pass to Andre Reed in the back of the endzone, 35-24. Next up was the 4th and 5 play where Reed caught his 2nd TD pass. I was bouncing off of the walls by this time as the score was 35-31. I could feel the stadium rocking in my living room. Then Reed caught his 3rd TD pass to give Buffalo their first lead 38-35. I remeber my step dad had gotten caught up in the moment, high-fiving me and yelling "Let's go Buffalo!!!" even though he was a Chiefs fan. On the last drive by Houston I was thinking to myself, "Was all of this emotion spent for nothing? Are we going to blow the game? What would I say if we lost?" When Moon missed Jeffries on that last drive and they ended up with a FG I breathed a DEEP sigh of relief. Odoms picks off the Moon pass in OT, Christie kicks the field goal, and everyone went home happy. Everyone except the Houston Oilers and their fans who cry to this day about Beebe being out of bounds or something :worthy: Ahhhhhh, those were the days.

What a ball game :P

Like BC, my first game ever, was the pre-season game against the Redskins, to open Rich Stadium...gotta admitt, at 7 years old, and not quite understanding the insignificance of pre-season, I was disappointed that the Bills lost, and that I didn't get to see OJ play...still have the coin, and my ticket stub...

I have been to numerous games, had season tickets from 1979-1987 (perfect timing huh?) before moving out of town...back many times since...been to over 110 Bills games home and away. Strangely, some of my greatest memories came during losses...my one regret, despite all the games I have been to, I have never been to a playoff game...

Others:

1- Opening day, 1980- Bills beat the Dolpins, after losing 20 straight to the tunas in the 1970's...the original "fandimonium!"

2- Opeing day, 1986- Bills lose to the Jets, in Jim Kellys' first game as a Bill. I just remember the chill I got down my spine when they introduced jimbo...although the Bills lost, it was really weird, knowing in no uncertain terms, the Bills had a real QB...for a Bills fan, he was Brett Favre, before Brett Favre was created...only a little smarter!

3- A few weeks into the 1987 season, the Bills traded for Cornelius Bennett...he made his debut against the Broncos, and wreaked all kinds of havoc with John Elway immediately...Bills lost, but everyone was getting that feeling that the Bills were indeed, on the brink of something special...
