aussiew Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 http://www.energy.ca.gov/daylightsaving.html It even explains the bar closing at 2am reason.
stevewin Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Bars are open until 4 in Buffalo (That is our battle cry!!!)
dib Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Are you kidding? Forget? It means an extra hour of sleep.
Beerball Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 I want to know who read the entire article? That is more information about time that I need (no offense aussie! ). I didn't even get to the part about bars closing at 2:00.
stuckincincy Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 I dislike daylight savings time. It hurts the farmer, because at the very time the hours of sunlight are the highest, it moves up the morning hours which are very important. Which is why certain places like the Evansville, Ind. area, won't use it.
Pete Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Interesting reading- thanks for the link! BTW I did read teh entire article I am a compulsive reader and enjoyed it!
BillsFanNC Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Bars are open until 4 in Buffalo (That is our battle cry!!!) 91288 I used to bartend back in Buffalo. Seeing what goes with bar patrons on between 2 AM and 4 AM from a sober perspective wasn't pretty. Bad things man, bad things.

Bad things man, bad things. 91345 I always laugh when I think of the phrase "bars are open til 4 in Buffalo". Looong ago on my 18th birthday I was out with friends at local hole we used to frequent and it was probably like 2:30 AM and they were shutting the place down and I kept shouting over and over "Bars are open til 4 in Buffalo!!!". It was a joke for years after that whenever we went out - and to this day I can't be at a bar and hear last call without thinking/saying that.
RkFast Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Screw the farmer. Days are too short in NYS as it is, even in the middle of the Summer. Last thing we need is MORE days where we get home from work in the dark. As far as what goes on in bars late, my personal credo in regards to bars is "Nothing good happens after 2AM".
dib Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 Which is why certain places like the Evansville, Ind. area, won't use it. They're just ticked because it screws up their sun dials

When it happens, buy the corn for your liquor and the grain for your beer from Rhode Island and your bacon from Long Island and your beef from New Jersey. Bon apetit.
nobody Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 The law should be to move the clock so the sun never sets before 7pm.
