San-O Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Which is it? Depends apparently on what spin is required for the given situation. If you are defending your head coach, then there's not enough talent. If you defending your decision to stay pat, your talent is pretty close. Sounds about right. Go away Ralph. Nobody's buying it, at least not me.
Fewell733 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 i'd say we don't have enough talent when we're trying to win with Losman at QB. Otherwise I'd say we're close.
Sisyphean Bills Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Only Al Davis is a bigger schmuck. Jerry Jones?
Hazed and Amuzed Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Jerry Jones? At least he has rings.
billnutinphoenix Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Wondering what Polian is saying now?
Hazed and Amuzed Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 So does Al. So what does that tell us?
dave mcbride Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Only Al Davis is a bigger schmuck. Al Davis has overseen three Super Bowl winners, and is a giant in the league. The Raiders were in the Super Bowl 6 years ago, and probably would have gone the year before if not for the worst call in playoff history. And they may well have gone the year before that if not for perhaps the dirtiest play in a big game in recent times -- Tony Siragusa doing a pro wrestling-style flying squat on the shoulder of a prone Rich Gannon in the first quarter. And the Raiders looked like they were improving late in this season. The point is, you should never compare the two. It's really not even close.
NicholasCal1 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 ralph doesn't know sh-- about football. his team lacked balls they get that from their coach. so lets see the bills will go out and sign one or two semi big name free agents and we are suposed to act like sheep and follow this pathetic organization. i don't care who they sign they will still wind up 7 and 9.
Sisyphean Bills Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 So what does that tell us? Al > Ralph.
Sisyphean Bills Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 See above. Al >>> Ralph. Yep. And, Al's certifiable. But at least he wants to win.
Omar Little Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Al Davis has overseen three Super Bowl winners, and is a giant in the league. At this point, Wilson > Davis.
BillsVet Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 The irony behind all of this is that DJ had control over who played on this team and who didn't. And Ralph adopted C2C, which was a marketing move that fooled people into thinking Buffalo spent like any other team. So, the people responsible for this roster were none other than DJ and Ralph. No wonder they wanted each other.
The Dean Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Al Davis has overseen three Super Bowl winners, and is was a giant in the league. Al hasn't been relevant in the league for many years. He is a far bigger joke, now, than Ralph has ever been, or ever will be. If you think his past success entitles him to his bizarre behavior now, fine. But, let's not pretend that Al Davis in 2008 is anything but a boil on the ass of the league.
ChasBB Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Thanks Ralph for putting your stamp of approval on mediocrity. No, we Bills fans don't aspire for a championship -- we are just delighted with 7 or 8-win seasons. Be retaining Jouron, you have assured us that we'll never again know exactly what the HC will do with 30 seconds left on the clock -- oh, the excitement of not knowing exactly how the debacle will unfold from half-to-half and game-to-game. Thanks for keeping it exciting, Ralph. We wouldn't want to get too comfortable in the 'Win' column or anything like that.

Nobody's buying it, at least not me. I wouldn't call the talent on the O-line close. None of them could have started with teh SB teams, the Electric Company, or the AFL Champions. Reason - they are immobile and fat. Ralph seems to have the idea that big is the only criteria for O-lineman, when it is really momentum (Force x velocity for those who forgot physics). Guys like HOF's Billy Shaw and Joe D weren't just big (for their time) but fast. Shaw used to tease his RB's that he had to slow down on sweeps for them to catch up. Anyone watching OJ, the Pre-Saban years knows what I'm talking about.
Big Turk Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I think this team would still be playing with Jeff Fisher or Bill Belichick coaching it---it is amazing how players that "don't have enough talent" seem to be so much better with good coaching....
jad1 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Al hasn't been relevant in the league for many years. He is a far bigger joke, now, than Ralph has ever been, or ever will be. No, I still would pick Davis over Wilson. Davis hasn't cried poor while refusing to sell the naming rights of the stadium because he wants a taxpayer-funded monument to himself. Davis didn't sell a division home game against a hated rival to another city and then brush off the profit from that game as only a 'drop in the bucket.' Outside of Buffalo, honestly, who respects Wilson? Davis looked like a clown in firing his coach, but at least he realized that his coach was incompetent. Wilson can't figure out that Jauron is not an NFL quality coach. Wilson's a fool who shows every year that the rare success that his franchise has experienced was more of a happy accident than the result of his management. This franchise deserves better than Wilson.
