Look at what we could have had instead of HARDY

Personally I was a little annoyed we didn't take Martellus Bennett, feeling we needed a te with reliable hands to work the middle of the field/split seems then another outside wr. Te's generally develop quicker as well. He had nearly 300 yards and 4 tds as the Cowboys #2 te. Would've nearly been a perfect fit for Buffalo. Bennett was also the guy who was friends with Kevin Everett. As Everett brought Bennett on a recruiting trip to Miami. Bennett out of respect for Everett changed his number in his last year at tex a&m to 85. There's some good te's in the draft again this year. Hopefully we don't get shutout again. The Bills weren't about to take a wr similar to Evans, after the desire to get bigger was noted.

I agree. People got WAY too caught up with height last year, including the front office, and it was pretty obvious early on that the Bills wouldn't even consider anyone under 6ft tall. All that really matters is if a WR is actually *good*.

I thought that they should've drafted Sweed once Thomas was off the board last year, and neither one has done anything, but a player I really liked was Donnie Avery. I knew they would have no interest in drafting him due to his height, however (of course, the Rams picked him before the Bills were on the board in R2 anyway).

Im sorry we needed a tall reciever but one that could catch and was froma good program this Kid would have done wonders for our offense Its not about height people its about hands.

First off, he's 5-10", doesnt solve our midget WR problem...

Second, he wasnt ranked ahead of several WR's, so if it was going to be so obvious he was the better pick, dont you think he would have been graded higher?

In fact, 6 other teams took a WR before he was drafted, so if it was so clear then dont you think they would have taken him too? Not to mention, he played in a pass happy offense and got the chance to start from day 1 due to injuries and a suspension of Marshall...oh and he had a pretty good QB throwing him the ball and a way better coaching staff...

These "we should have done this" posts in the draft are laughable, especially after one season.

He also played opposite of a big target drawing double and triple teams, making him a perfect compliment.

For my part, I was *extremely* annoyed that the Bills didn't draft one of the better TE prospects last year. Bennett would have been a good selection for them, too. Hopefully they won't make that same mistake again this year with another fairly good crop of players at the position. I'm not getting my hopes up, however.

I hate these "Look who we could have had in the draft..." posts. Its not like the team did not do research or anything (of course, with the Bills, you never know). The point is "hindsight is always 20/20". Every team can look at their draft each year and find players they missed out on.

I agree with you and the exercise is fruitless at best, however, the frustrating thing is that I really believe that some of the more hard core fans from this site might have done better with the pick or picks if you would. I know, easy for us all to say, but I know more than a few who would not have blown picks on Hardy, Willis McGahee, Dante Whitner, John McCargo and Mike Williams....

I saw the opener against Oakland and he turned DeAngelo Hall inside out.First NFL game. Did he grow hands AFTER he was drafted?
