Brandon
Your losing the point of all of this. The idea is to win next season not in 2-3 years because YOU dont like the way a certain thing is ran!!! I am a personal believer in the 3-4 and was completely pissed when it was blown up. Because the main problem in this organization is going after guys that dont fit THE PHILIOSPHY of the organnization whcih leads me back to This team has no identity it has no idea what it wants to be. Lets maintian continuity bring in a guy whos not going to blow up the Defense. Bring in a OC that can kick start this offense adn hope the front office and personnel guys pick they right players this year, then we have a chance to be competitve. Just because you let a coach go deos not mean we wait years for it to be fixed No, I'm simply pointing out the reality that faces the Bills' front office if they choose to dump this coaching staff. They have an aging defense line (and all three of the DEs may well be washed up) and they need at least some help at LB and in the secondary. The results that they're getting from this group aren't spectacular, either. They're quite ordinary. If there's a coaching change, the Bills are going to have to decide whether its in their best long term interests to maintain the current defensive schemes or not. That's not to say that they should *definitely* make the switch, but its something they need to consider.

They've made significant investments in Pos, Mitchell, and Lil' Donte over the past 3 years... 1 talented pro & 2 young guys with a lot of potential that IMO appear to be a bad fit in the current scheme. I think McKelvin will be nice no matter what D is run, as will Stroud. McCargo is a bust that will be long gone. Everybody else is either too old (eg. Schobel), too injured (eg. Youboty) or decent-to-marginal talent (the rest), doesn't matter if they stay or are replaced. I say make the most of your major resources & change the scheme. TheChimp
Wilson gets a bad wrap and that's because people like to always look for the negative. Ralph hasn't brought in a good coach in quite some time but I don't think it's because he is cheap or is not trying to bring in the best guy for the job. He has brought talented coaches here before; guys like Chuck Knox and Marv Levy. In fact Marv didn't do anything in KC prior and had a bad record as an NFL coach but he ended up in the HOF. When we hired Greg Williams he was one of the top coordinators in the game. Tom Donahoe was a GM, but he didn't come cheap by any means. Ralph hired Mularky because of the Donahoe connection. Ralph hired Dick Jauron because of Levy. So, looking back I don't see Wilson the same way everyone else does. He is trying to listen to the advice of his GM's and he does spend the money when needed. Spagnola, Marty, Cowher, Johnson, and maybe even Carroll would all be solid picks, but lets not keep Jauron; 3 seasons of losing is proof enough that he needs to go. Marv Levy rode the coattails of Jim Kelly and Kent Hull to the HOF.

Donahoe's salary was in the bottom 3rd of NFL GMs. TD's first choice wasn't Greggo.. it was Marvin Lewis, but Ralph wouldn't pony up the cash. Poeticlaw
In hindsight, would Marvin Lewis have been worth the extra $$$?How about Lovie Smith? IMHO Lovie Smith Certainly would have been worth the money BUT it seemed like the bills were dead set on a OFFENSIVE MINDED coach. Which is why I have stated many times before we should not have tunnel vision and get the best canditate available. Same with the Hardy pick we were so dead set on getting the TALL receiever we overlooked the next receiver who is on his way to becoming the offensive rookie of the year. It wouldnt have happened if we were looking for the best player available we would have gotten one.
