Endzone Animal Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Just reported on WGR that Cowher will not be going back to coaching.
murra Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 there is no contest; the chin ain't ballin next year That is hands down my favorite message that I've read thus far on these boards, congrats. You made me fall out of my seat.
DrDawkinstein Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Just reported on WGR that Cowher will not be going back to coaching. what about GM?
Endzone Animal Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 what about GM? Said he would not be leaving the television booth.
DrDawkinstein Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Said he would not be leaving the television booth. but... A source told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that although Cowher told the Browns he is not interested in their job, he has not ruled out a return to coaching somewhere in 2009. The source also said Cowher could still listen to opportunities to coach elsewhere next season.
Steely Dan Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Said he would not be leaving the television booth. Money always talks. If Ralph wants to win a SB before he dies he needs to pony up the cash.
DrDawkinstein Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 basically, what Cowher is saying is "no one has offered me enough money yet" and Ralph wont be the guy to do it.
Beerball Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 basically, what Cowher is saying is "no one has offered me enough money yet" and Ralph wont be the guy to do it. Jests have the cash and the need, but I don't see Cowher coaching Favre.
WOFTT Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Said he would not be leaving the television booth. What about Crennel as defensive coordinator though. I'm assuming that if DJ is gone so is his staff.

murra Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Jests have the cash and the need, but I don't see Cowher coaching Favre. Who said that Favre is quarterbacking the New York Jets for the 2009 campaign? Are you not ready to ride the Favre question mark carousel this offseason with me?
scribo Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Have Tuna be our VP and the Chin our GM/HC. That sounds like a good, plausible plan to me.
McD Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Ralphie doesn't speak "whateverittakestowinese", he only speaks "frugalese". Because of that, nobody worth his coaching salt will listen or understand him enough to consider the Bills.

No doubt it will be a circus again, but a decision on a coach needs to be made quickly so that FA and the draft are handled to his liking. Cowher (IMO) wouldn't sign with a team where Favre was a potential QB.
RayFinkle Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Have Tuna be our VP and the Chin our GM/HC. That sounds like a good, plausible plan to me. Only if Belichick comes on as D-coordinator, and Billick signs on to run the O.

Favre has already started the "i might be injured, i should probably retire" BS. he only kept playing to spite the Packers, he doesnt want to play in NY (or anywhere else) next year.
