IN THE WAKE OF THIS SYSTEM...ARCTIC AIR WILL CONTINUE TO FLOW ACROSS THE LOWER LAKES REGION TODAY...AND THIS WILL LEAD TO CONTINUED LOCALLY HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOWS DOWNWIND OF LAKES ERIE AND ONTARIO. INITIALLY WEST WINDS EARLY THIS MORNING WILL VEER MORE NORTHWESTERLY WITH TIME THIS MORNING...AND THIS WILL PUSH THE HEAVIEST LAKE EFFECT SNOWS SOUTHWARD TO AREAS SOUTHEAST OF THE LAKES. OFF LAKE ERIE...AN INTENSE BAND OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW ACROSS SOUTHERN ERIE AND WYOMING COUNTIES WILL PUSH FURTHER SOUTH INTO THE WESTERN SOUTHERN TIER AND TRANSITION INTO MULTIPLE BANDS OF INTENSE LAKE EFFECT SNOW AS WINDS BECOME MORE NORTHWESTERLY THIS MORNING. THE LAKE SNOWS WILL THEN REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN ERIE...CHAUTAUQUA...AND CATTARAUGUS COUNTIES INTO EARLY THIS EVENING...BEFORE WEAKENING NOTICEABLY AND LIFTING BACK NORTHWARD TONIGHT.
