cold reality

Chris Brown

Posted December 20th, 2008

As we stepped off the plane Saturday in Denver a brisk wind greeted us with some pretty cold air.

Watching some of the southern players adjust to it when they step off the plane is fun to watch.

Leodis McKelvin has been fascinated by the snow in Buffalo having never seen it. He leapt into a snowbank at One Bills Drive after practice Friday with just a sweatsuit on. And he was loving it.

Anyway he gets off the plane and the wind is whipping and there’s Leodis with his coat open almost wanting to take it all in.

Only he appeared so amazed by the cold air that he was actually laughing.

I’ve got to say I think he’s got the best approach for a southern guy not used to this weather. He just embraces it.

Too bad Trent "to glove or not to glove" Edwards doesn't share the same enthusiasm as Leodis. I really like what I've seen from Mckelvin as a player, (especially as the season has progressed) but he seems to have a good attitude about him too. I like seing him talking a little sh*t to someone after a good hit or nice return. I wish more guys on our team showed some "fire" out there. Too bad we have a corpse leading the team on the sidelines.

To quote the Professor from Futurama....We're living in the future!

Care to share the winning lotto numbers ;)

Funny, but pathetic at the same time.... that Bills players have to go to Denver to experience cold and snow.

Good point. Anyone who says Jauron is not soft is misguided.

So...why is leodis enjoying being pathetic?

It's pathetic that he's and others on the team (from the implications of the writeup) are not used to the cold and snow and are experiencing it for the first time in a game in Denver - not Buffalo.

Leodis McKelvin is quickly becoming one of my favorite players, he's got that spark and fire that can ignite a team in one play. Frankly, I've never seen anyone that runs back kickoffs so smooth and so blindingly fast. He's flying by defenders before they even know what hit them. Leodis McKelvin looks like one of them rare prime time, Deion Sanders type players that makes you stand up and take notice every time his hands touches the ball. We are in for a treat for years to come with McKelvin, What an awesome draft pick :wallbash:

One thing nobody can take away from the Buffalo Bills, our return specialist are the best in the league. Between Parish, McGee and now McKelvin the Buffalo Bills are scary good returning the football.

Your right, its to bad one of them didn't make the pro bowl, but maybe next year.

I'm out in CO at Breck and I have to tell you the weather out here is brutal. Not sure how it will actually effect the game, but man oh man is it cold (and I grew up in the snow belt and live up in VT). It's been in the single digits with a strong wind for the past couple days FWIW...

Here a little North of Erie, PA in the snow belt seems like we already had a winter and it hasn't even gotten started yet. :wallbash:

TE needs experience playing in bad weather being as how the weather is always so nice in Buffalo.
