Wacka
Libs seem to think that troops are like men on a Risk game. Move them anywhere on the board- no problem. Afghanistan needed to be fought with special forces, not massive amounts of conventional troops. The USSR tried it that way and it got them their own Vietnam. Troops are trained for specific roles. You can't just drop a bunch of infantrymen in the middle of the mountains and expect them to fight a sniper war effectively. What is so hard about understanding that? KRC
1) What is the Durand line?2) What is the NWFP? 3) Where are the Pashtun located? 3) What is the relationship between the ISI, the Pashtun, the Taliban, and the Mujahadeen? 4) What is Musharraf's current policy towards each of the above, and why? 5) What was Clinton's foreign policy towards the above, and Pakistan, and the former Soviet republics in the area (Tadjikistan, Kasakhstan, Uzbekistan), and why? 6) What is Bush's foreign policy towards all of the above, and why? Until you can answer those questions, you don't have the first clue as to what goes on in that region. Believe it or not, the world is sometimes a complex place that requires actual thought and study to understand. 89738[/snapback] I'd answer, but since it would require more than a soundbite it is a waste of time here.
