Poeticlaw
I was thinking about it and here is what i came up with: We are not very good on defense We are not very good on offense We are GREAT on Special teams. OK so now we know what we are lets see how we improve them based on coaching style: Coach is conservative play it to the vest, play not to lose so what do we need first? Defense we need to build up the defensive side of the ball We need passrushers and lbs and CBS and Safeties that can play every down, get to the QB, break up the passs, Force fumbles and create turnovers. Pure playmakers. So This year we should be completley focused on doing Just that building the defense only with the exception of SIGNING A TRUE CENTER and a back up QB!!!! The offense already fits their style of play its just that the defense cannot get off the field when they need to and the offense seems to do better when the defense is making plays and giving them good field position like the specail teams does. Then next season address whatever holes are left on defense and the fill the holes on the offense. Then what we should see is a consistent team that knows how to make plays and has the defense to keep us in the play not to lose philosophy and then maybe we should see the makings of a winning team then if at that point ole dick cannot get it done show him the door and bring in someone who can. Since we know if Ralphy boy truly signed him to an extension hes not eating the contract.

I would go bananas if we brought in Warner or McNabb but that's a very tall order. I hesitate to say any combination of added players = playoffs and I refuse to give my predictions for next year's record because going against the NFC/AFC South is going to suck, miserably; and I regret- in advance- the falling out on this board when an IMMEDIATE turn around is not made. I wonder how many people realize we're about to transition from one of the NFL's easiest schedules to one of the hardest.
marauderswr80
Im gonna take heat for this one.......... I think Lynch & Evans have the "potential" be way better then Thurman & Reed....I said potential, I didnt say Lynch & Evans were better........But the potential is there. Noone will ever replace Kelly or Smith......

I said this last preseason - we were not an 7-9 team - we were a team with a 13-3 special teams and 3-13 offense and defense.
