marauderswr80 Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Ive watched that play a few times, and from my stand point he shoved the ref pretty hard. I think it could have been avoided. But on the other hand I know he was trying to make a play..... Not sure how to feel about it.....

Big Hurt Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 The NFL always tell us the ref is part of the field. If a pass hit the ref, they play on. So if the refs are part of the field and they are in the way, I think it is ok to push them away. Some plays are designed to use the ref to set picks. The refs just need to learn not to get in the way so that they can keep their shirts clean. I don't think Preston should be fined for that.

Dan Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Loved the "hit"! I've said for years, more players should do that if the ref "gets in the way". You can expect at least 2 bad calls per game, usually favoring one team. I say take them all down.
