It was a play fake run, then roll out. If you really look at the play how is the QB supposed to know the tackle (#71) completely missed his block and the DT is running him down from behind, any QB would have most likely done just what JP did when hit from behind.

IF ANYTHING,the OC has a mic and the QB has a headset in his helmet, why didn't the OC just yell to throw it away asap?

Oh wait, its the same retard that called a play fake pass when they needed to run <_<

Headset shuts off with 10 left on the play clock... Well it is supposed too! :wallbash:

I agree with where I think you're going.

Most fans excoriated Jauron and the staff for sitting on the ball at the end of the Cleveland game. Today, he made a mildly gutsy call to try to WIN THE GAME and he's getting killed for it.

Look at it this way: we had two or three nice runs before the ill-fated waggle. DJ tried to put the ball in the hands of a QB with wheels to get him outside, take the cheap flick to the TE if it's there, and if not pick up a yard or two (while staying in bounds and rolling the clock) to set up a 3rd and 3-ish. If he completes that pass for a first down, it's basically lights out, and the time to call the waggle was perfect. We just had an idiot QB run the play, and I think DJ said as much in the post-game by stating something like "I can't put [A FIFTH-YEAR, FORMER FIRST ROUND QUARTERBACK] in that position."

I'm still on the fire DJ team, but I understand the play call and credit him for being a stand up guy and refusing to publicly put JP in his rightful place beneath the tires of the bus. If you don't like the series at the end of the Cleveland game (I'm one of those people), you can't bash DJ for showing some nuts and trust in the waste from Tulane and trying to win the game.

Yup you're right there. But you sure as !@#$ CAN bash him for being a !@#$ing retard and TRUSTING that that waste from Tulane will come through for you after you we're the latest in a line of people who have f'd his career up.

The call is TERRIBLE. For 2 Reasons!! #1.You have JP Loserman in at QB. IF you have Trent in its a better call-but JP is a turnover waiting to happen!!! #2. You are killing them with the run all game, and they have been missing tackles. RUN THE BALL!!!

C'mon-whoever made that call is an idiot and needs to go!

Jauron said he made the call. <_<

It's not a secret that Losman is terrible. That doesn't play into the decision-making process?

Again, who would you have picked to try to close out the game? Lynch/Jackson or Losman?

Losman.

And didn't somebdoy bring up the CLEV game... Damn if you do, damn if you don't.

Because than all the lingering retards that think JPL belongs in the league will finally see he does not belong in the league.

Can't say he was given every chance to prove his 1st round status...

And if he would have succeeded... More power to him next year. Man the guy is dumb.

Didn't poor execution put the kabosh to 4 straight SB's?

I dislike JP just as much as, if not more, than the next guy. That said, if he can't execute the call we're talking about, he doesn't belong on this team or in the NFL. Nobody was asking him to do something he's not capable of, like, say, run the two-minute drill or get the team to the line with more than 8 seconds on the play clock. All they wanted was to use the wheels to do something that would have been simple for what hindsight shows us was probably any NFL quarterback other than JP.

Trent the Nutless fumbles the ball almost as often as JP on his rollouts to the right. The call was dumb, regardless.

Honestly, just by the very fact that people here besides me have ways of defending the play call tells me it wasn't "wrong." There are playcalls which simply can't be defended. I honestly don't believe those to be one of those instances.

Was it the "right" call? Well, may be may be not. But if "not", it CERTAINLY wasn't sack, fumble, return for a TD bad play call. I think we can agree on that, and I think we can agree that the ultimate result of the play is contributing greatly to the emotional aspects of this discussion.

For the record, I was screaming the second JP started rolling out. I think my words were, "What the fuc# are you fuc#ing doing you stupid motherfuc#ers!!!!!"

I might not have the exact verbiage straight, though.

Agreed. then I sat down and began to cry... knowing the game was so close to being won and we just gave it away.

Running backs are unstopable so what do you call? A play action pass. Sure Losman coughed up the ball but he should never have been put into that postion. Great call.

Is Raplh laughing now? Because I am not.....

other than putting it in losmans hands, i dont have a problem with it. lynch wasn't going to get an automatic 5 yards every time unless they mixed it up a little. the 2 minute warning was going to stop the clock so an incomplete pass doesn't give jets any more time. jets only needed a FG to tie to it, and they had moved the ball reasonably well throughout so there was good reason to want another 1st down to keep it out of their hands. and a 1st down there pretty much ends it. a legit NFL QB knows right away if the play's not working to throw the ball away, so the questionable part comes down to assessing wisdom of putting JP in that situation. without being on the sidelines and playbox, one really can't know how he was doing in terms of hot reads, etc.

the game they really screwed up in the last minute was MNF against cleveland when they called 3 straight telegraphed up the middle runs while "settling" for a 47 yarder, that lindell missed. that's when the season all but ended and the coaching staff turned me from supporter to detractor.

So, in Dick's eyes it was a successful day.

Well, they are a tough team and its hard to get any win in this league.

Hard to believe we're almost certain to go 0-6 in the division.

You need to rewatch the play. Run or pass, Elam would have been in the backfield for the stop. He runs RIGHT BY Peters.

He runs right AROUND Peters. On a straight ahead handoff Lynch would have been gone already.

You guys still argue with this cat person. Amazing. Watch. He will show you how Elam would have beat Jason to the inside if we called a run. Watch.
