Best/Worst soundtrcks

Hazed and Amuzed

Recommended Posts

Here's a few that may not have been mentioned:

Last Tango in Paris (Gato Barbieri)

Here's a taste:

King of the Gypsies (David Grisman, at least in part)

No soundtrack available, but the last song (Medley) on this album is, I think, from the movie:

Buena Vista Social Club (Ry Cooder)

Here's a taste:

The Last Waltz (The Band and Friends)

Nuff' said

South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut (Parker and Shaiman)

A Clockwork Orange (Walter Carlos)

The Pink Panther (Henry Mancini)

His soundtrack to the TV show Peter Gunn was even better.

Shaft (Issac Hayes)

Manhattan (Gershwin)

The Good the Bad and the Ugly (Ennio Morricone)

Bird (Lennie Niehaus and, of course, Charlie Parker)

Superfly (Curtis Mayfield)

The Harder They Come (Jimmy Cliff and others)

Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (Bob Dylan)

Grateful Dawg (David Grisman and Jerry Garcia)

I'd also like to add karate Kid. Any movie that can have this 2 gems: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n6chxpEINs and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Qae_TUTeGo deserves to be mention amongst the elite.

Indeed, I should have put this with the elite of the worst.

Forgot about that one. Great flick and a wonderful soundtrack. Good call, Kelly.

Hey, that banarama song was HUGE with the ladies back in da day. Started many an interesting evening(well at least two or three) by asking a young lady to dance to that song.

Great Sountrack

Best:

Colors

Agreed, I still pull that CD out every now and then when I'm feeling like I need of some "street 'cred" :(

The Best

Judgment Night (a pretty cool fusion of rap and metal)

Another good one, I forgot about, I've got that one somewhere. After I read that I had to find The De La Soul/Teenage Fan Club video on Youtube. :)

Best:

Pulp Fiction

Reservoir Dogs

Cited many times on this list and I agree anything with an wide range of music styles makes for a great soundtrack. Was never a fan of a soundtrack with only one artist throughout (Purple Rain being an exception of course).

Wow did that song take me back in the day as well!

The Malcolm X soundtrack is pretty good. Lots of old Jazz on it.
