Audibles??

SKOOBY

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever trained JP on how to do them??

He made the audible he is told to make: When Lee has favorable one-on-one you switch that to a pass play. It's the play, not JP. Argue about the throw, but please, don't pretend like it's JP's fault we're throwing on first down.

I think SCOOBY is right though. We've all come to realize just how unnatural Losman is out on the field. His improvisation is always helter-skelter, panic out of the pocket and never pre-snap recognition. His adjustment skills have to be worse than Rob Johnson. Losman doesn't react to the defense. He locks in on receivers, blah, blah, blah.

Please just cut this guy. He has to go.

As for Schonert....that's a whole other concern....

What? How does that make SKOOBY right? He's wrong. Trent would have called the audible. Peyton Manning would have too. IT WAS THE PLAY. IF LEE EVANS IS ONE ON ONE, SWITCH TO PASS AND THROW TO LEE EVANS. JP DIDN'T WRITE UP THE PLAY OR MAKE THE CALL!

It has nothing to do with his poor pre-snap recognition. He might suck royally at quarterback, that however is not a valid example of poor pre-snap recognition. I tend to think he's quite good pre-snap (aside from some timeouts and confusion). He used to be good at drawing defenders offside and seems confident pre-snap with a lot of reps before the game.

He might be wild, tentative, and generally a bad quarterback, but that pre-snap read was 100% designed and had nothing to do with JP!

Do you actually watch the games or just sit there and see something special?? We are in an arena with like zero noise, so is it that hard to see what defense our opponent is calling and make a change to the desiginated receiver, call a draw or a straight run versus a pass?? Locking on our original target when 2 to 3 defensive guys are standing near him to start (Evans most of the time, which every team knows about JP) with might be a good idea, don't you think?? No you don't think, that's why you wrote the dribble above.

Pre-snap reads involve seeing who the defense is focusing on, looking that target off and finding a new one. Tunnel vision does not a real NFL QB make. How many times do we see little trickery plays by Manning / Brady and other great one's that might freeze somebody on the D, like fake pumping or looking at the real target at the last second? JP's triple clutching freeze's his receivers and that's about it.
