Poeticlaw
We play 3 divsional games twice= 6 games 4 nfc games and 6 interconferance games through out the course of the season. Us as fans know the importance of homefield advantage within our Division yet our Home divison game is AWAY. We could have easilied played an NFC game in Toronto or a Conferance game none of the other teams in the leaugue who are playing outside of the us played a divisonal game why should we unless there might have been some influence in the decision. For years the Dolphins have whined about coming to Buffalo in DEC but this new Deal with Toronto was a Ralph Wilson baby. Thinking about it I dont believe the NFL screwed us on the divisional game in Toronto. I believe it was Ralph himself that did this. To Ralph the biggest rivalry to him in the entire NFL is the MIAMI DOLPHINS and he wanted the the residients of Toronto to see first hand the rivalry of the BIlls and The Dolphins. So he probably talked to the Dolphins (who would jump at a shot to play in a dome instead of the cold) and the leaugue and to see if they could schedule it this way. Ralph has on many occassions manuvered the schedule moving a 4pm game to 1 pm thought its minor I think their might have been a great influence on this game by Ralph who expect us to win against the Dolphins to help build the extended fan base in Toronto It even could have been a contract term that we are not aware of Just food for thought. Thus a post I read earlier would explain why Ralph would be even more infuriated if this team lost in Totoronto.
Dan
Another thought.... maybe Ralph wanted the Fin game in Toronto because he figured with it being the rivalry game that so many Bills fans attend, that it would ensure more people would make the drive and attend. ?? If the Bills were playing SF up there this week, how much interest would there be for the game this week in Buffalo?

Honestly, I think the logic in choosing this game was: "well, the Dolphins were 1-15 last year so no one will miss this game". It somewhat makes sense considering that Bills fans would have been angry to lose the NFC games (since they only play those teams once every 4 years) and the Jets and Pats sell themselves as true rivals now. What would you have given up instead? The Oakland game? The Cleveland Monday Nighter? San Diego?

Considering that both teams know each other so well we need to the homfield advantage and I dont think Playing an away home game will give us that advantage especially since we dont know who the fans of toronto are really coming to see. The NFL game the opposing team or the bills will the stadium be as loud as a home game will the crowd actually make a difference. Personally I would have played anygame but a divisional game in Toronto at least this seaon the first season to see what type of crowd support we have will it give us a true advantage yes or no. To me I would have preferred the dolphins on monday night football and played the Browns in Toronto. Thena gain that jsut my take on the whole situation. Endzone Animal
Could be worse...we may be giving away a lot more than one game soon. At some point we could very well be the beggars hoping for a single game in Buffalo while Toronto hosts 7.
cody
The dolphin's game is in TO because this would have been the third year in a row that game failed to be a sell-out. (corporations buying thousands of tickets to prevent blackouts aside)
apuszczalowski
The dolphin's game is in TO because this would have been the third year in a row that game failed to be a sell-out. (corporations buying thousands of tickets to prevent blackouts aside) I love how people are making such a huge deal about it being such a loos since its a divisional game against a rivel, when many fans up until this year wouldn't have considered Miami a rival anymore, and I believe there was discussions about that last year here. Miami and Buffalo have not had a rivalry since Kelly and Marino hung up the cleats. The biggest rival for Buffalo the last few years have been the Pats. The Bills have had trouble selling out the Dolphins game every year for the last few years. There wasn't much of a choice for the NFL for scheduling the game. They said it had to be a late season game cause they didn't wantthese games to be scheduled during the CFL season. So that would leave the SF, Dolphins, and pats game this year to schedule in TO. SF only comes to Buffalo once or twice a decade, and is not enough of a draw in wither country to attract people. As for the weather/homefield issue, In the last couple years, how many times have the Bills actually won a game because of the weather, or because they played at home? The Giants last year? The Browns last year? SF last week?
/dev/null
I had a thought about the Toronto game. Not so much about the game itself as Toronto Not so much about Toronto as Canada in general Anyways, every time I go to Canada, i've noticed the girls there make really good use of the push up bra
basskik11
I drove up from DE for the Jets game this week and talked to a lot of local people about what they thought. And they said that the NFL or whoever the "powers that be" should have made this a "non AFC East" game. It just isn't right, but I have total faith in my fellow Bills fans that they are gonna BRING IT this weekend and give Miami the business. I can't wait for Ginn to cross the middle and Mitchell to lay him out. We cannot let him have big game. If Miami wants to win, we should make him try to run it, not throw. The D Line needs to get into Pennington's face. They should blitz all day all day. GO BILLS!
