Guest Guest_eyedog_* Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Yeah thats what I'm saying. Maybe a little wishbone with Drew. Oh boy.

TheZone78 Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 I wish MM would just come right out and say that Willis is the man..... I'm dumbfounded here but maybe they just don't want to pound Willis 25-30 times a game right off the bat. Perhaps they just want him to ease into the physical grind. That's the only reason I can think of....and it avoids a full blown controversy....well for the moment anyways. Just speculating!

John in VA Beach Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 This situation will work itself out on the field. Naming both starters IMO is really emarassing...kinda like saying we have two #1 QBs....
Guest Guest_eyedog_* Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 They ran him 26 times against Miami. This is about one thing and thats Travis' feelings.

He knows that feelings go by the wayside in this industry. I think they're trying to avoid Henry going AWOL while breaking in McGahee. Willis isn't quite 100% yet which is scary if you think about it. If/When he regains his breakaway speed he's got a change to be an NFL elite back.
BillsFanNC Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Despite MM's best efforts to ignite something here, the fact is that 1-5 teams don't have "starter" controversies, because in the end does it really matter?
CoachChuckDickerson Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 That doesn't really matter. If in 1991 both Thurman and K Davis took the field for the first snap, K Davis knew damn well he wasn't the "starter" ... This is a kitty move by a kitty coach. 87585[/snapback] I could not have said it better myself. This guy needs to grow a set.
seq004 Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Seems kind of gutless, so again Mike is worried about hurting feelings instead of winning. Any more good news?

Do you think that he would desert the team, or stop trying? If you are correct, MM is certainly a weak headcoach. He should be able to name a starter without consulting a well paid, so-so running back, nor should he be worried about the "feelings" of Henry, the poor thing. Imo, this is just another dumb move by an organization with a dumb, ineffective GM that is killing the franchise. No surprise.
