Jerry Jabber Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 If the season were to be over, we would draft 15th. Seems like there are a lot of teams worse off than us. It sucks to be thinking draft at this point, but I'm not too optimistic about our chances the rest of the way.
bizell Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 eh, i think i hate drafting in the middle of the first round. i'd rather we a. really sucked so we get a good draft spot, or b. kick all ass and be in the playoffs. this 7-9, 8-8, 6-10 middle of the road stuff sucks.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I think that my least favorite expression in the entire world of sports is "if the season ended today..."
silvermike Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I'd rather draft in that 10-15 range than the 1-9 range. It's bust city up there, and you have to pay so much for the rookie contract, plus you get hemmed in a bit with the conventional wisdom.
MiamiGeorge Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I can't wait till the season we draft at #32......
silvermike Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I can't wait till the season we draft at #32...... Trading down? Because I think we should trade down most seasons. There's not another way of getting the #32 pick, right?
Max997 Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I can't wait till the season we draft at #32...... I can't wait for the season when the Bills draft #22...only way they draft in the 20's these days is if they trade for it
BuffaloBill Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 eh, i think i hate drafting in the middle of the first round. i'd rather we a. really sucked so we get a good draft spot, or b. kick all ass and be in the playoffs. this 7-9, 8-8, 6-10 middle of the road stuff sucks. Historically the data shows that lower mid round i.e. 10 - 15 are generally good "safer" picks. Perhaps this is because so many QB's are taken lower forst round and they tend to be risky picks. Also from a cap standpoint, until and unless a rookie scale is implmented first five to first ten picks tend to be very high dollar. From a cap standpoint if you have a high dollar bust it makes the situation that much worse.
BuffaloBill Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I can't wait till the season we draft at #32...... I'll second that ... but given that we are talking about the Bills it is likely to be when they expand the league to 34 teams.
KD in CA Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 If the season were to be over, we would draft 15th. Seems like there are a lot of teams worse off than us. I think if they put forth the kind of effort we've seen lately, they can easily move up to the top 10.
Numark Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I want a 10-20 pick as long as we don't plan on making the playoffs. I wouldn't mind seeing us draft cushing.
Like A Mofo Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 As far as my 2 cents go...I know the Bills playoff chances are remote...but until such a time that they are 100 percent eliminated..I could give a rat's a$$ about draft position until that time.
