Boatdrinks
in the 2nd quarter. The spot of the kick was clearly the 10 yard line. Lindell misses and SF takes over. The ball was spotted at the 20 yd line. Why? Shouldn't the spot of the kick be where the offense takes over after a missed FG? Am I missing something here or did the 49ers get a bonus 10 yards. It didn't matter much in the end, but our coach would certainly have caught that if it was an error, right?

It's been the rule for as long as I can remember.
/dev/null
If a field goal is missed anywhere inside the 20 yard line, the ball is turned over at the 20 http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/fieldgoal
