Steely Dan
it is not nonsense. you have forgotten about sean taylor already? these guys have huge targets on their backs. you think he carried the gun because he was looking to rob somebody? he may be guilty of bad judgment, but he has every reason to feel paranoid. What he said. Look, if Plaxico had seriously worried about his safety, you'd think that he would have learned how to use a gun well enough to NOT SHOOT HIMSELF to not go to these particular places. Fixed.

It is nonsense. The only people who have targets on their backs are those who paint them on themselves -- like Sean Taylor -- a lifelong thug whose own gunplay would have landed him in prison if not for his celebrity and wealth. If he has reason to be paranoid, than he should be avoiding places that he fears, not putting the lives of other people in jeopardy. Suggesting that people should be allowed to ignore gun laws because they are famous or wealthy is insane.

What a slap in the face to much more deserving 'Skins of the past...

stuckincincy
Jeeze...3 1/2 years to 15 for illegal carry, after shooting himself in the leg? These politicians and their vote-pandering ways... http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/11144691 You can beat the daylights out of someone, cripple them and ruin their life forever, and get less time. That .40 S&W is a powerful number - and is chambered in a medium to large frame semi-auto pistol. That's a pretty dumb concealed-carry piece. IMO, if you want to conceal carry - legal or not, a reliable 2" shrouded hammer .38 Special or .44 S&W Special lightweight revolver with good bullet choice is the way to go, with today's transfer bar tech insuring against any accidental discharge. Doesn't fit in with the gangsta image, though...
SageAgainstTheMachine
Look, I don't know why Plaxico is getting so much grief for this. He was just paying homage to Sean Taylor right?

I know a lot of people on this board don't realize it, but a concealed weapon in NYC is a very big deal and everyone here knows it. He's pissed off a lot of people with this stunt. The cops are pissed cause he got the hospital to break the law and not report a gunshot wound. The mayor's pissed -- Bloomberg has commented on the issue twice in the last 24 hours, including threatening the liquor license of the club that let Burress in knowing he was armed. Oh yeah, and he's done for the year. And probably done forever as a NY Giant. Well done Plax!
