Beerball Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 my HOF includes: Italian sausage, peppers, onions on a good crusty roll. Best if you make it yourself. Better still if you have a favorite spicy sauce. Italian combo subs. Cheesesteak subs.
drnykterstein Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Wegmans assorted with oil, mayo, peppers and the works. Ya anything from Dibella's basically.
Steely Dan Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 I don't think Walmart carries a quality provolone, nor has a roll with the requisite crustiness for this sandwich. I last made this sandwich at home, when I could buy decent hot capicola. You must not be considering stale rolls.
Fan in San Diego Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 If in Little Italy in San Diego, go to Mona Lisa's , it's been there forever, 100 years maybe, authentic italian, get the hard salami sandwich #3 with everything, out of this world.
USMCBillsFan Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Steak and Cheese from A&J's in Olean..... Best sub ever...
guesswhosback Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 A one pound bacon and cheddar burger from Grovers in Amherst, N.Y. Just the thought of it is making my heart beat funny. Match that a mixed basket of fries and rings..only in Buffalo can you find such a great assortment of artery clogging food!
guesswhosback Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 A cheesesteak, somewhere here in philadelphia. Where? Pat's, Gino's, Tony luke's or Rick's in the Reading Terminal Market. I like mine provolone, extra wit!!!
Pete Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Where? Pat's, Gino's, Tony luke's or Rick's in the Reading Terminal Market. I like mine provolone, extra wit!!! I prefer Allentown cheese steaks. Give me a Brass Rail cheesesteak over Pats, Gino's, Jimmys, Mike Schmidts, etc!
Fezmid Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Violas steak and cheese (make mine a double) from Niagara Falls...Elmwood location is still the best, IMO. They don't take credit card. I tried going there with my wife last time we were there, but we had no cash. I love the Kansas City from Nelson's Cheese Factory in St. Paul, MN. http://site.mawebcenters.com/nelsoncheesef...boxedlunch.html
the_franchise Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Ham sub from Mike's in Kenmore, on a toasted bun, still does it for me...haven't had one in years, but I can taste them in my dreams... For now though, the Italian Night Club sandwich from Jimmy Johns (french bread!) ain't too bad etihter! The classic number 9, same here on that one, with a little extra o&v
gmac17 Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 i like the buffalo bills sh*t sandwich, they serve it up on a regular basis at the ralph. it was particularly good today.

Bullpen Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 i like the buffalo bills sh*t sandwich, they serve it up on a regular basis at the ralph. it was particularly good today. That really is a great sando isn't it? I get mine delivered all the way to Colorado each Sunday! On topic: The Rocky IV sub from Rigoli's in Jimmytown (capicola, genoa salami, prosciutto, pepperoni, olives, pepperoncinis, mozzerella). The place burned down, but I'm sure Tom Cat, WVU and others from Jamestown will agree any sub from there was fantastic.
TPS Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Primanti's http://www.primantibrothers.com/menu/city/print/ Best drunk food ever. Was there over the weekend...Yummm! Had the pastrami, but I forgot to ask for an egg on it. I'm glad I wasn't drunk, else I would've had a second one... Had a couple of Yuenglings of course.
MattyT Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Cheeseburger sub from the Oswego Sub Shop. I've tried several variations after I left school there, but none have been equal.
buckeyemike Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 The Italian sub from Jersey Mike's in Fairview Park, Ohio. I know they're a chain, but those Italian subs are so freakin' good. Heinen's stores in the Cleveland area make a killer hoagie as well.
Tcali Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I've got two favs. I love the pastrami sandwich from Katz in New York. Sure, it'll run ya about $20 bucks, but it's worth it. My second favorite sub is the steak hoagy at Jim's SteakOut in Buffalo of course! I owned a convenience store called Allentown Food Shoppe next to the original Jim's before Jim expanded that location and converted my store into one whole restaurant. I then moved my store further down on Elmwood Ave right across from the Towne Greek restaurant where the store still stands to this day with a new owner. John and Marys ham sub...oil &very light mayo...
MDH Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Corned beef on rye from Carnegy Deli or Stage Deli in NYC - with a little spicy mustard for good measure. A pickle on the side is a must. They cost an arm and a leg but they’re huge and are worth the price (well, once in a while.) Also, surprisingly Panera Bread has some pretty tasty sandwiches for a chain restaurant. It's the only fast food place I can stomach. Their soups are pretty good too.
