billnutinphoenix Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/07/26/...in-his-freedom/ he'll be a UFA - TEN is not allowed to tag him again and he'll go the highest bidder, plain and simple he'd be financially astute to wat to see what the market offers instead of sign with Tennessee before the fireworks begin....ask Nate Clements..I never thought he was worth as much as the 49'ers gave him...
MRW Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 It's funny to talk about options at the DT position. The Bills have spent 3 off-season trying to fix that spot, and it seems like no matter what Brandon, Guy, and Jauron do nothing works. First it was Larry Tripplett who was an epic flop. Kyle Williams isn't the part of the solution. McCargo is a bust. They traded for Stroud who seems like he's still a fine player. I don't see much from Spencer Johnson either. I feel OK (not great - but OK) about our players at DT. If the opportunity arises to go after a top-tier player in FA, or there is a Stroud or Jenkins type dangled as trade bait, I'd be happy to see them go after it, but I'm far more concerned about the play at DE. I feel like, right now, with competent to good play in the middle, the DEs are still not getting it done. So while I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in another quality DT, I hope it wouldn't come at the expense of urgently needed upgrades at DE and C.
