DFITZ1
Yes, in the second half, he didn't look scared. But if he is a starting QB in the NFL, he should never look scared. The man can't be afraid to throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield and expect to win games. The kid lost us 4 straight. No matter how good he looked today, against the Chiefs no less, he still has a ton to prove I only heard the radio broadcast, but it sounded TE was in his September form. In his favor was a running game, Josh Reed's return, and a weak opponent. The absence of those makes all QB's suffer. I don't think any QB will consistently look good without a running working (JK would admit that). I still think the concussion from week 5 had lingering effects (that confused look, or scared as the Board's been calling it). Let's hope this carrys over to next week. Flbillsfan#1
Anyone who thought that Trent wasn't going to have a stretch of bad games this season must have thought that he wasn't still basically a rookie QB. Every Rookie struggles. If the Giants had done to Eli what many here have been clamoring for with Trent, that is, tossing him out on the street, where would they be now? Certainly not a SB winning team. It takes some time for a QB to really get under control in the NFL and TE is going through that rough patch. We needed this one and we need next week as well. Put us at 7-5 with three games left in the Division and we'll see how things turn out. Cut Trent a little slack. He's still better than the alternative, and better than many of the QBs out there. I must be CRAZY. I thought you were a VET in your 2nd year especially if you got substantial playing time your ROOKIE year.
BB2004
You're kidding right? KC's pass rush is worse than our pass rush. They have no dominant DT in the middle who could stop our run without needing a double team and they don't play a 3-4 with multiple look formations. They also didn't flood the passing lanes like every team did the past few weeks against us. I'm glad Trent got to get into it today. That can only help us. But I'll wait to see how he does in our next AFC matchup. C I agree that Edwards has to continue to play the way he did today with looking down the field and trusting himself and his receivers to make plays. There is definitely reasons for optimism. StupidNation
Trent already is better than average in his 2nd season amongst starting QBs. He had a rough patch of 2 games, and 2 ho-hum games, but overall he's played excellent considering our WRs. If you guys can't see that it's impossible. We don't have a physical receiver or an end-zone threat. It's almost amazing he can do as well as he can. Reed is a #3 WR, Evans is a 1b receiver, and we don't even have a true #1. Evans is a great receiver for what he is, but if it was 3rd and 4 would you rather have him or the slew of big 6'2" guys who are good at what they do for a 1st down or a TD? A Boldin, Fitz, soon to be Bowe, Owens, C Johnson, A Johnson, White, Marshall, et al. or a guy like Evans? Evans is a finesse speed WR who isn't as quick as Steve Smith, or as big to physically dominate with space or going over the middle. For all the bashing Trent gets he doesn't have much to work with, and no one really considers Reed a legit #2, but a solid #3.
