Willyville Guy
How about that hit? http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/foo...RM_Exclude=Juno COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — It turns out there was a price tag on the storied rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan. SBC Communications has agreed to pay about $1 million for the naming rights to the Ohio State-Michigan football game for the next two years. When the two teams meet for the 101st time on Nov. 20 in Columbus, the matchup will be called the SBC Michigan-Ohio State Classic. The order of the two school names will be switched for next year's game in Ann Arbor. Each university will receive $530,000 from SBC for the two-year deal. San Antonio-based SBC already sponsors the annual Red River Shootout between Oklahoma and Texas played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. A logo for the Michigan-Ohio State game featuring SBC's name will be displayed on the scoreboard and on signs around Ohio Stadium, but not on the field or players' uniforms. Ohio State Athletic Director Andy Geiger said proceeds from the sponsorship deal will pay for athletics scholarships and for the school's libraries, among other things. R. Rich
I like this line: Ohio State Athletic Director Andy Geiger said proceeds from the sponsorship deal will pay for athletics scholarships and for the school's libraries, among other things. 86642[/snapback] As if that makes it all better. So, if they make a deal with drug dealers, with the proceeds going to benefit the university's cafeterias, I guess that's not bad either. The next time someone whines about something ruining the "sanctity of the game", just refer to this crap. To me, this is worse.
