Why not Bill Cowher?

Other then Cowher flat out refusing to come to Buffalo under any circumstances, I would like to have Wilson and Brandon explain why they shouldn't make a huge effort to sign him to a lucrative 5 year contract.

Wilson is 90 years old, what excuses over money can he possibly have left at this age? Toronto has added more to his pot, and doesn't he really want to have another shot to win a SB before he dies?

Cowher has it all. He sucks at being a studio commentator, so he needs a new job anyway. Buffalo is the perfect type of city for him to add to his Hall of Fame career, if he does even want to coach again. Is there a bigger challange in the NFL today? His boss would be a Brandon, young guy who can learn a lot from spending 5 years watching him work. Cowher can handle personel decisions, since he didn't win his Super Bowl in Pittsburgh until he won that power battle with Donahoe. And Wilson can finally erase the Donahoe mistake by bringing in the guy who got him kicked out of Pittsburgh. Win, win, win decision all the way around.

Only a naive idiot can still believe that Jauron can ever take an NFL team to a championship. Even if his team won the next 6 regular season games despite his moronic gameday coaching to make the playoffs, he will absolutely find a way to lose in the playoffs in a way that will obviously be his fault. The bigger the game, the less prepared he is on game day.

Two reasons: Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder

Jerry & Dan, the owners with more money to spend. I'll give you that.

But that doesn't mean Wilson still can't make a serious offer. One head coach, even if Wilson offered him Coach-GM, can cost a team up to about 5 to 6 million a year for an elite one, and that has to be the most even Miami is spending on Parcells to be team-king. Wilson and the Bills can afford that, especially since that money does not count against the cap. Cowher won his Super Bowl playing for a frugal long-time second generation owner in a bigger yet similar city in Pittsburgh. Maybe he won't need to make the most money in a huge market like Dallas or Washington where the pressure to win immediately will be immense, and his owners will be all over his butt day in and day out. Maybe Bill Cowher figures he doesn't need that kind of daily crap. Maybe Cowher might like the smaller market where yes, the media and fans are nuts, but the 90 year old owner and young smart vice president won't be all over every single thing he does and says like Snyder and Jones would be.

All I know is Wilson is 90, and Cowher is available if he wants to coach again right now. It makes too much sense not to go for it.
