VOR
Please help me understand we the love is coming from. He's not JP, who was the antichrist because he couldn't make chicken salad with chicken shiit. And now JP's on his way out of town, which is probably best for everyone. Trent make his legend off of his first-ever drive against the Pats last year. And it carried him for a long time.

HurlyBurly51
You forgot he has no sack and goes into the fetile position when confronted with adversity.
VOR
So the love for Trent is that he is not JP It's partly the "the backup QB is the most popular guy on the team" and his first-ever drive.

That is the best reply...you hit it right there. The wanna be scouts out here want to think Trent is the second coming of Montana or Brady are just the typical fan who always loves the backup. Not ever really assessing his ability or lack there of.
Boatdrinks
Poised in the pocket? The "love:" for trent has to do with winning games, and with performing better in those games and looking more competent in those games than any Bills QB since Kelly and maybe Flutie. Simple as that. It may not be saying much, but this is a city starved for a winner and competent QB play. So folks latched on to it. It wasn't just us, the national media was along for the ride too. But now Trent is clearly struggling, which isn't really surprising. It may have been too much too soon. TE still can have a productive future, but he has to fight through this. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But he showed flashes of being a good QB in this league, which JP never did. JP showed an arm, but not good QB play. Namely reading defenses and delivering the ball on target, on time. TE is not doing that right now, but he has before. That is our best chance at winning in the near future. TE must get his game back. But his crisis right now is strictly one of confidence. Bills fans always want their QB to succeed, it's nothing new. But when things go south it gets ugly in a hurry, as Kelly retired what, 12 seasons ago? You can't blame fans for getting excited at the first hint of success. You're wrong. JP is the backup, and he isn't too popular. Most don't think TE is another Montana or Brady. Just a QB smart enough to be a winner. We're not talking hall of famers here. He is struggling right now, no question. He has shown stretches of good QB play, so we have to live with it. It sure sucks watching a 5-1start go down the tubes with no answers, though. TheChimp
Trent sucked donkey balls tonight, yes. Big whoop. He still fired a strike to Royal to the 30, and there was still a full minute to go. The fact that we had to watch Lindell kick it from the 30, three plays later, had nothing to do with Trent. Nothing.
