mjohns85 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 how obvious was it that the refs and vegas were involved in this game?
Rico Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I feel sorry for all the gamblers who got Hoculied on this game.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I feel sorry for all the gamblers who got Hoculied on this game. I feel sorry for people who are dumb enough to gamble.
MarkAF43 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 how obvious was it that the refs and vegas were involved in this game? Yea cause everyone knew that play was going to happen and they could screw everyone that way. This is such a stupid topic, there is no way the fix was in, you couldnt predict that play no matter what. It was a bad call, they screwed up and thats it

It was a bad call, they screwed up and thats it It seemed weird to me for sure so I checked on GvG and it was in fact fixed.
SKOOBY Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 2 balls passed behind the players / multiple yards and they called a forward pass?? That's a joke and really shows me that something is wrong with the whole picture, fix is in.

ieatcrayonz Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 what about the "holding" call that wiped out a pitt td and forced them to kick a field goal on their final possesion? Do you mean the one where the guy was blatantly holding?
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 When a QB overthrows a wide open receiver, or when a running back inexplicably fumbles a ball, nobody accuses them of gambling on the game. But when a ref blows a call, the fix is in?
nucci Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I feel sorry for people who are dumb enough to gamble. I gamble occasionally and don't consider myself dumb. I also don't need you to feel sorry for me.

SageAgainstTheMachine Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I gamble occasionally and don't consider myself dumb. I also don't need you to feel sorry for me. Actually I gamble quite a bit on sports. I win $1400 if I win my fantasy football league. I just posted that to see if somebody would call me on it haha.
stuckincincy Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I feel sorry for all the gamblers who got Hoculied on this game. I don't think he's coming back next season. I watched him in action in a b'gal's game. Very odd..
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Would the review show a forward pass ?? Enough to change the play called on the field? Music city miracle was another joke. I believe the reason they didn't change the call was because it didn't affect the outcome of the game, as it was the last play of the game. In fact, Polamalu was dumb for returning the ball and potentially risking a fumble. He should have just fallen to the ground.

SageAgainstTheMachine Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Ok - you got me. Well I wasn't really trying to "get" anybody. I just like saying douchebaggy things and seeing how long it takes for someone to make me own it.
KD in CA Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Do you mean the one where the guy was blatantly holding? And blatantly holding the guy who had containment on the end that Parker scored around.

But when a ref blows a call, the fix is in? I have. And it has happened in pro sports. Football isn't neccessarily immune. Where do people get the idea that it is impossible for it to happen? There is no such thing as it being impossible. Not with the kind of money involved here.

I wasn't implying that athletes don't gamble. In fact, I'm sure that some of them do. My point was that everybody is just so much quicker to jump on the referees. When they make an honest mistake (because they are human) everybody is out for their blood.
