MattyT Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 If it can't be explained by scientists, then it must be the work of a supernatural being.
Steely Dan Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Thanks for finding these things they are all cool and informative!
Nervous Guy Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Interesting...did you also see the link in there stating that we are actually heading into another Ice Age? "And what's more, the experts blame the global change on falling - rather than climbing - levels of greenhouse gases. Lead author Thomas Crowley from the University of Edinburgh and Canadian colleague William Hyde say that currently vilified greenhouse gases – such as carbon dioxide – could actually be the key to averting the chill. .....published in the authoritative journal Nature".... What would Al Gore say?
stuckincincy Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 If it can't be explained by scientists, then it must be the work of a supernatural being. It could be a scientific consensus. Consensus is used when there are no agreed-upon data, just the opportunity for grant money. Like global warming.
stuckincincy Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 OPen the pod bay doors HAL. I always wished HAL killed Dave then, saving everybody 45 minutes' worth of 1960's-style wow!-wow!-man! psychedelic ennui. That wasn't matched until the Lord of The Rings, with Frodo and his pal at Mt. Doom. The 1st 10 minutes or so were OK, but as time wore on...and...on...and...on, I found myself rooting for Gollem to seize those two moaners and fling them into the fiery abyss.

As much as I loved LoTR books and enjoyed the movies, one thing I've always wondered was if the giant eagles could fly Sam and Frodo out of Mordor....why couldn't they just fly them into Mordor?

Couldn't clear it with the GEU (giant eagle union).

Kevbeau Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Couldn't clear it with the GEU (giant eagle union). Yeah, the lack of foresight by the GEU is why we use foreign eagles today.

/dev/null Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Which one of the mods changed the thread title?
DrDawkinstein Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Which one of the mods changed the thread title? HA! i just caught that when i came back on...
Chef Jim Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Which one of the mods changed the thread title? It's called marketing.
Chef Jim Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Sex sells... Of course. This thread has 162 views to date. If the title had not been changed I imagine it would have less than 25.
tennesseeboy Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Yeah..but can they explain the ring around Uranus? Sorry...a seventh grade flashback. I still have scars on my knuckles from the "Hey sister, I can see uranus!" crack.
