keepthefaith Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 2006????You better start to get current. It's 2008 and Losman is less than 8 weeks from being a former Buffalo Bill. I think most of you don't get it. Is it not becoming clear that this coaching staff is nearly helpless when it comes to developing the QB into a weapon? You could try all 32 starting QBs in the NFL on this current team IMO and get similar results - mediocrity. These coaches take the most important position on the team and try to minimize its impact. You show me a more risk averse coaching staff in this league. You can tromp on JP. He's gotta be the happiest offensive guy on the team knowing he's getting a new address next year.
TheKing Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 No one said "Losman was still a rookie in his 4th year." And if Trent were playing well during the 3 game skid, he shouldn't get the hook. But he's got 2 TD's, 5 INT's, and 3 fumbles. I'm not saying you did. But you are wrong when you say no one did. The Losman fan club most certainly did. They came up with the most bizarre football theory I've heard yet. To their thinking a QB ia still a rookie until he plays all 16 games in a season.

oak tree 12 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Trent has ruined this season with his brilliant consecutive trifecta of losing to the Dolphins, Jets and Patriots. Sorry and no offense pal, but you suck. He's clueless and needs to sit and watch Losman being given his final chance to resurrect his career as a Buffalo Bill. These last three losses are so historically bad for this franchise that I don't think we here at TSW are even fully aware of the magnitude. I know LABillsfan is going to give me flack and plenty of others here, but drastic times call for drastic measures. I think Trent has tossed every last bit of 5-1 cache he had with these last three abysmal games against the AFC East division. It's time to shake things up and put a QB in there that can actually get the ball to #83. If Losman fails, then give the ball to Hamden. I'm done with Edwards. You and your head coach can take a hike. you either have dementia or other serious memory issues. do you not remember JP playing this year in relief of trent and for the last 4 years he's still the same guy. even though it was a short time he was the same old jp. you mark my words JP Losman will never be a starting QB in this league again. all the QB starved teams and there were a ton of them this past off season wouldn't give the bills a bowl of soup for losman whats that tell you. by the way blaming edwards for our last three loses is flat out ridiculous. he didnt play well last week but he didnt have any help either JP wouldn't have done any better. when teams know you cannot run the ball there is no more 8 in the box . it didnt take the rest of the league long to realize that we cannot run the ball and then they started putting 7 guys in coverage and out the door went our passing game. if you cant run the ball and teams know that its very easy for any good coach to take away your passing game i dont care who your QB is. your comment on hamden is so ridiculous it does not even warrent a response!
1billsfan Posted November 16, 2008 Author Posted November 16, 2008 I'm happy he's leaving too.He was a complete bust. ...and DICK JAURON is NOT A BUST????? Does Jauron have his supporters under a vulcan mind control that his record somehow does not reflect his abilities as a head coach?

Edwards has sucked the last three weeks which happen to have been the most crucial to our season. He has earned a trip to the bench. I want the Bills to try to win NOW, not three years from now. If someone isn't doing their job or is outright costing us games then put the second stringer in. Try something! If Edwards stinks up the joint on Monday night and Jauron does not pull him at the half then I will even more upset than I am after three straight divisional losses. Hopefully Trent does not suck on monday night. Save the notion that Trent is an untouchable, that's ridiculous. The guy was drafted in the third round, he should be able to handle a trip or two to the bench when he is making game costing turnovers.
TheKing Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 ...and DICK JAURON is NOT A BUST????? Does Jauron have his supporters under a vulcan mind control that his record somehow does not reflect his abilities as a head coach? Correct Jauron is not a bust. But Losman is an epic bust. A 3 draft pick bust.
Bill from NYC Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I want the Bills to try to win NOW, not three years from now. Then why would you want JP in there? It took JP 4 1/2 years to win 10 games, as opposed to 18 games for Trent. JP is a quarterback who lost his job time and again because he loses football games. What is it that makes you think that now, things would be any different?
Bill from NYC Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Correct Jauron is not a bust. Excuse me? Jauron is a coach who nobody wanted that was hired by a GM who nobody wanted. He came in and lost games, and was rewarded with a contract extension, presumably a raise, and what appears to be total control of the draft. Tough to make this stuff up, no? In one sense I agree with you. If nobody in the league wants you, expectations are low. How can one be a bust if losing is expected of you?

The other thing they don't understand is that no other team wanted to give the Bills a bag of fertilizer for Losman.

I think that statement is a little bit suspect because a given team could make a suprise HC hire from the college ranks and if that HC ends up with a losing record anyone could say...a coach that no one wanted. As far as Marv Levy goes, was he actively looking for a GM position with other teams to say that no one wanted him. And wasn't Jauron a HC in Chicago? And didn't the current GM give Jauron an extension?
keepthefaith Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Correct Jauron is not a bust. But Losman is an epic bust. A 3 draft pick bust. Dick Jauron is working on "busting" for the second time and is close to achieving that.
Stenbar Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Oh, the irony. The Bills have gone 0-3 the past 3 weeks, against division opponents. Trent has thrown 2 TD's, 5 INT's, and fumbled 3 times. But replacing him isn't the answer despite JP having a better season in 2006 with less talent around him. Okay, got it. 2-1 in 04 1-7 in 05 7-9 in 06 2-5 in 07 total 12-21 enuff said

Never sniffed the playoffs before or since. The current Bills GM has put his own ass squarely on the line (IMO) with Jauron's extension. Even GMs make bad decisions.

You don't go 13-3 by luck.

Yeah and there are plenty of posters here who in 2006 said Losman was going to be an all pro.
Stenbar Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Yeah and there are plenty of posters here who in 2006 said Losman was going to be an all pro. Give em a ribbon..Nuts on...
keepthefaith Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 What were they doing playing football or rolling dice? You don't go 13-2 by luck. I live in Chicago. Watched the whole Jauron era closely. Yes, luck. No team before or since had so many breaks go their way (and a weak schedule) in one season. Playoffs said it all. They were outclassed by a lesser opponent (record-wise). It was an abberation (13-3). The Bills have shown throughout Jauron's time here that they cannot beat an opponent with a winning record regardless of who is on the field. His record in Chicago looked very much like that. He's not a winning NFL coach. Nice guy for sure, but not a winning coach. He has the opportunity to prove us non-believers wrong. He hasn't done it. When you're paid millions a year to do a job, results matter. He doesn't produce them.
Bill from NYC Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 As far as Marv Levy goes, was he actively looking for a GM position with other teams to say that no one wanted him. No. He wanted to be a coach. And wasn't Jauron a HC in Chicago? yes, and he was promptly run out of town. And didn't the current GM give Jauron an extension? Sure. Go figure.
