molson_golden2002
You make $50,000 you pay $5,000. I make $250,000 and pay $25,000. We both pay an equal 10%. Are you really that dumb? So we are not paying an equal amount, how is that fair? Hint: It's not. Nothing in the world is really fair.
Chef Jim
So we are not paying an equal amount, how is that fair? Hint: It's not. Nothing in the world is really fair. The fairest you can get is an equal percentage of income. I guess you really are that dumb.

Oh, I see what you are saying, those with the most should pay the most. I like that! It's a nice place to start. I'm glad you have come around to believing in redistributing income, because that's what you just supported.

I'm glad you have come around to believing in redistributing income, because that's what you just supported. No you idiot, we both pay the same...10%. I pay more in dollars but it's equal in percentage of income. It also leaves me a lot more after tax money than you, that's where the socialists like you have the problem. Any tax can be looked at as a redisribution of wealth. I distribute some to you, you distribute some to me. But when politicians want to make the distrubution unfair (one pays a higher percentage of their income than another) that's when I have a problem with it. Chef Jim
So you believe that there should be no cap on the social security tax? Only if there's no cap on the benefit.
Chef Jim
Yup, real fair! I know it's not fair. But that's the penalty I get for making more money.

Chef Jim
Is their a cap on the benefits of being a U.S. citizen? There's a cap on SS benefits and that's what we're talking about. And by the way there is no cap on the benefits on being a US citizen. But that's my job, not the government. And if you're going to rely on the government to make you life all rosey you're in for a rude awakening. You failed to display your ability to voice support for the idea of unmercifully taxing the wealthier people, what's wrong with you? What ever happened to ignorantly ranting about how rich people don't deserve their money?
blzrul
Newsweek has an interesting article focused on that pocket of wealth around Fairfield/Greenwich/etc CT. Apparently RICH people voted overwhelmingly to tax themselves. How about that.
