The most maddening thing...

Our secondary is a strength. Greer and McGee are solid, Corner looked good, McKelvin even held his own. Simpson makes sure that nothing goes over his head...but these poor guys can't hold coverage for so long. We need to get some rpessure on the QB. Even if we blitz we don't put pressure on the other QB.:wallbash: :wallbash:

they aren't holding coverage usually----they are already 30 yards off the guys to ensure noone beats them deep and that they make the tackle in front of them....someone needs to tell the coaching staff this could work, but only if you are forcing them to catch balls in front of the 1st down markers...

It's working fine...our defense really has played winnable football in the past 3 games. Our offense is dreadful and can't put up more than 10 meaningful points.

Pressure = Turnovers. No pressure, no turnovers. Can't win many games if you don't win the turnover battle.

I don't know if you know but that isn't the basis for our defense. We do a great job of keeping the score low game after game and the offense continues to turn the ball over and score fewer and fewer points.

I agree and if it weren't for some questionable ref calls we have have held them without a TD but if we are giving the ball away we need to take it away. Also Cassell has been horrible under pressure this year and we let him just sit back there and pick us apart.

yeah...allowing teams to march down the field all day long, getting first down after uncontested first down, rolling up yards really is working, hoping the other team makes a mistake by themselves instead of forcing a mistake. Funny how the best play of the game on D is when they actually got pressure on Cassell and he got sacked and fumbled.

The problem with this is even tho they are not allowing a lot of points its only because teams are allowed to hold the ball for 7, 8 and 9 minutes at a time, which shortens the game for both teams, and with our offense afraid to do anything but throw 5 yard passes all game long, and their obviously inability to string plays together usually(tied for last in the NFL with only 9 drives of more than 10 plays), it works right into the opponents hands. Instead of trying to prevent other teams from moving the ball, the Bills are happy to allow them to march up and down the field and try and hold them to FGs---not exactly a recipe for a playoff team unless they have a great offense they can count on to score lots of points.

IMHO the Bills are getting very little out of their talent available to them, and SHOULD be doing a LOT more with what they have...a team that is getting the most out of what they have is the Dolphins---that team really does suck if you look at the roster, but the coaches are so bold and show such faith in the players and basically tell them, here is what we are gonna do, let them try and stop us....

The Bills have the attitude of "oh no!! Don't let them complete a pass over 15 yards!!", and don't take any chances so they don't get beat....way to instill confidence in your players....its obviously working quite well, don't you think??

And the Bills with all their injuries STILL have more talent than do the Dolphins and probably even the Jets....

If we score 21 points or more and have 1 or less turnovers in our last 3 games we win them all. Our defense keeps us in games and our offense takes us out of them.

I agree, if the O does what you say, we win all those games. End of story.

That said, this defense is still PITIFUL. It is simply inexcusable that a defense cannot get off the field AT THE CRUCIAL moment of the game in the fourth quarter. That's when teams decide who wants it more. 8:40 to end the game last week, over 9 minutes today. For all of our woes on offense, the D still has to give them a better chance late in a close game. Regardless of what happened up to that point. Hell, maybe Trent would have thrown more picks, lost another couple fumbles. Whatever. The point is our defense never gave them a chance to find out at crunch time.

There is no defending our defense the last few weeks.

GO BILLS!!!

Well the DB's did have a better Sunday for once. Moss was not really a factor. Although I got sick of seeing Welker. Why can we use Parrish like that?

Cause other teams don't play 20 yards off the line of scrimmage and let our WRs catch balls with noone in sight?
