Now they have to decide if they will just strip him of the titles he has. I guess you think they should just promote him for all this. They have to do something. I think it should be something like what they offered him, but he doesnt seem to want that. Or he is just negotiating for the best deal he can get. He might just want a better committee with more power. Christ, you're freakin funny. Put your embellished written words in those second hand pieces of shiit actors you write for, hack. I can't believe anyone is really surprised by Lieberman. The party establishment tried to take his seat 2 years ago in favor of some hack for the Dem nomination here in CT. Fortunately, this is an Independent minded state so the best candidate as easily reelected without a major party label. I don't believe the Dems will be arrogant or shortsighted enough to tell Joe to f**k off at this point, though I wish they would. That's bull. His undoing was by his own hand. Lieberman was defeated by Lamont in the Dem primary in a wave of anti-Iraq war sentiment (and he's still a pro-war cheerleader), bullied and pouted his way onto the ballot as an Independent, accepted with open arms millions of GOP campaign dollars and won with a huge percentage of the Republican vote. Look at the CT 2006 exit poll breakdowns. Lieberman won that race becasue 70% of the republicans voted for him...because he was a pro-Iraq war pro-Bush candidate. Joe Lieberman hasn't been a Dem in a long time, hasn't represented his Democrat constituents in a long time and has vocally chastized and waved his finger at the Dems for close to eight years now. Joe Lieberman can go fug himself, and he'll have plenty of time to do it once he finally makes his switch official.

He was clearly angled to serve in a McCain cabinet in a Republican administration and now he deserves what kind of reciprocation? Elections are team sports so to speak, and he didn't help elect 1/3 of the Senate this election cycle.

Connecticut's senior senator, Chris Dodd, also appeared with Lamont on Wednesday. Dodd had campaigned for Lieberman before Tuesday's primary.

Well, the salient point being made was that the state Democrat primary voters (always a fraction of the voters, and in 2006, the fervent antiwar Lamont supporters showed up at the primary (one of the perils of democracy is that it only counts those who bother to show up to vote, and in these days of 50-hour workweeks...), rather than even the general Democrats of the state much less the national Democrat party, tho, several in the national party and the 'progressive Internet media eg salon.com who're wary of his defense/Iraq positions took the opportunity to call on JL to abide with the party and step aside. He refused, ran Ind., won pretty handily, and caucused with the Dems. But JL has been distancing more and more. By the tenor of his pc yesterday, Reid probably told Lieberman he can caucus, but kiss goodbye to the chairmanships (read: you will have d--k for influence). My take is that Joe is probably going to consider caucusing Republican, or more likely will be a true independent.
