Johnny Coli
Good timing, as the 2010 census is coming and these State Senators will still be seated for the 2011 redistricting. Just to stoke a few of you a bit more, the Dems now have total control of 27 state legislatures in the US and 29 governorships. Fabulous timing. outsidethebox
With the 3rd assessment in 5 years, my taxes will probably go up. My property assessment went up $19,000 last time.

Yeah, and if the Dems keep it through the next election cycle, they get to re-district. The GOP may not get it back for decades after that. Boomer860
How does the school tax show up? Is that part of income, sales or part of property tax? Well if you carry a mortgage its just all computed as part of the mortgage ,although can be deducted on your fed taxes The town and county tax come in Jan and the school tax in September ,Income tax comes as a payroll tax. In other words the school tax bill is separate from the town and county .Sales tax is paid anytime you buy something except food.

Jeez, no wonder NY State is F'd. They need to eliminate at least one, possibly two layers of gov. Even Massachusetts is not that bad, just property, sales and some user taxes. Oh and we still have some user fees license and registraion . The town and county and school tax rates are different depending on the locality, And depending on the price of the house. Well in Mass. the property tax must include th school tax right? And state income tax? I think NYS is the highest taxed state or second to California.Upstate New York should be a separate state from NY city
