Chef Jim
One serious mo-fo of a golfer, apparently. I read on wiki that Eldrick's on pace for winnings totalling $1B by 2010 I wonder how his (Barack's) mother feels. I assume she is very proud of her son but it's like her contribution to his "race" counts for zero.

The Dean
Question: I understand that he has African blood and I am the FARTHEST thing from a racist...I have many friends from MANY different backgrounds...but he is 1/2 white too correct? Oh that's right, that is not important. I think what Sage was saying is, this is the first President in US history who isn't fully Caucasian. Is that better? The KKK, and most racists, don't seem to be able to love the white part of a mixed-race person...have you noticed that? In this country "part Black" usually equals "Black", when it comes to prejudice. The fact that this country has ONLY elected White Christian Men as President for over 200 years (until now), is a giant stain on out history. This is simply the first step in becoming a fully functioning modern western country. I didn't vote for Barack because he was Black (or partially Black), but it is a HUGE bonus for this country. If you can't see that, you are blind, IMO. But, you are correct that Obama is of a very mixed heritage.

WTF dude, because we've elected a black president we're on our way to becoming fully functional? So how long have we been disfunctional and why? I don't see it as a stain on our country. I see it as the MAJORITY electing a person representative of themselves and their views.
The Dean
Because we know that only a black man can steer this country in the right direction. WTF dude, because we've elected a black president we're on our way to becoming fully functional? So how long have we been disfunctional and why? What? Find where I even HINTED at that. We were, and still are, dysfunctional if we won't consider anyone who is not a White Christian Male to be our leader. We waste the talent of well over 1/2 of our population. Are you suggesting that over 200 years of electing only White Christian Male presidents was a coincidence? Really? It was an enormous stain on this country's history that no Woman or non-White person has ever held the highest office in the land. We are the rich hillbillies of the Western world. So, I never said, nor suggested, that only a Black man can lead us. I am stating that, perhaps a Black man, a woman, a Jew, an Atheist, etc, have the ability to successfully lead us, and certainly deserve that chance. They are also going to make mistakes, and fail, at times, just like the White Christian Men before them. I expect that every mistake that Obama makes will be amplified, which is unfortunate...but, so be it. That comes with the job of being the political Jackie Robinson. Was a stain lifted from MLB when Robinson finally was allowed to compete, right along side of White players? Most would say, "it was a start". Same here. The stain isn't entirely wiped from our history, but things are looking up...at least in that respect. Joe, the Majority of the people in this country are NOT White Christian Males. This country is a Republic, and not a democracy. There is a reason for that.

And I'm pretty sure that most of the presidents in our past weren't Christian, either, and those that were were in name only.
