Simon Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I've never voted for a Rep or a Dem before. Yet I just typed in Ron Paul's name on my ballot. Did I just vote Republican?
Simon Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 murra said: That was a waste of a vote. Yeah, doing the right thing is always a waste.
murra Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Simon said: Yeah, doing the right thing is always a waste. It made no difference. But I think he ran as Libertarian in 1988. Regardless, you voted Republican. I don't know why I said your vote didn't count, because mine didn't either. Voting republican in New York serves no purpose as well.
Simon Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 murra said: It made no difference. And what vote would have made a difference? At least it was an attempt to make a difference.

In your state if you voted Obama or McCain it could have potentially made a difference. The reality is that when the day is done, we will have a new president, and a shaken up congress, but the downward spiral of American values will not be revived.

Saying his vote is stupid is even more stupid. He exercised one of his greatest rights as a citizen. If a significant number of people did what Simon did, the two party system wouldnt be so entrenched the next election. You should be congratulating people who did what he did.

Only the religious right can save us now! And I'd rather vote my conscious than make a difference of .0000000000000024%.

I disagree. Strongly.

His profile says he's from Pennsyltucky. Obama is going to win PA regardless if Simon voted for him, McCain, Ron Paul, or Ru Paul And voting your conscious is never throwing your vote away

Simon Posted November 5, 2008 Author Posted November 5, 2008 DC Tom said: Which voting for Ron Paul effectively exercises... Really...Ron Paul? I just cant get enough of that basso profundo of his! I'd only actively vote for somebody who intended to cut massive chunks out of the federal government. With only 4 candidates on our PA ballot, Bob Barr was probably most likely to do that but he's a two-faced opportunistic scumbag and I couldn't pull the lever for him even though I usually vote libertarian. I almost voted for Nader cuz he's so damned adorable but I couldn't muster the chutzpah. Hey, maybe if enough of the Ron Paul revolutionaries do the same it'll make a little noise, keep him in the game and send a message to our current overlords. Why, who did you vote for so we can make fun of you?-)
