Zogby has it down to 4 points (as of Tuesday), Battleground and IBD/TIPP has it down to 3, Rasmussen has it down to 5..And before anyone says look at the state polls - I want to remind everyone that state polls take a little time to tighten after national trends...I'd say look on Friday....

I am not saying McCain will win but iw will be closer than some think!

Electronic voting is the law of the land, and the paper trails are far and few between. No paper recounts. Businesses, individuals, ISPs, operating system vendors are in a daily fight against attacks. These dumb, static voting machines don't stand a chance against being diddled with.

Add in the explosion of absentee votes heavily pushed for by the Democrats - here in OH, the expectation is that 1 on 3 are such.

In other words, it's pretty good at predicting things that have already happened? :nana:

Take Miami over Buffalo this past Sunday. They are a lock.

The Dow closed up 900, from which I predict that US Steel will close up 14% today...

McCain himself couldn't have predicted Palin until an hour before he announced her. They hadn't actually really met more than 15 minutes at a breakfast.

  • Well, right now 11, 000 Colorado voters are awaiting "missing" absentee ballots.
  • Anoter 16,000 Colorado voters were illegally purged by their secretary of state (law suit pending).
  • And 200, 000 voters in Ohio don't have registration data that matches national data bases PRECISELY, thus inhibiting THEIR ability to vote- case currently being pursued by the Federal Government.

And Leon is getting laaaaaaarger

Interesting article from the Las Vegas Review Journal on results from early voting in Nevada. Obama's new voters aren't turning up quite as strongly as predicted

http://www.lvrj.com/news/33494194.html

Yet the rest of the article goes on to show the huge discrepency between the registered Dems vs the registered Reps that have voted early, in record numbers.

Early voting turnout continues to be high overall. Through the end of voting Monday, more than 334,000 voters had cast ballots statewide, including 242,000 in Clark County and 59,000 in Washoe County. Statewide turnout is up to 29 percent, according to the secretary of state's office.

In the urban counties, Democrats continue to turn out at higher rates than Republicans. In Clark County, 54 percent of those who voted through Monday were Democrats, 29 percent Republicans. In Washoe County, 51 percent of voters through Monday were Democrats, while 33 percent were Republicans.

This early voter "landslide" or "avalanche" as the media is calling it is tallied pretty well by this site run by a Prof at George Mason U (2008 Early Voting)

The Dems have a significant advantage in early votes in almost every state that has early voting.

Those voting machines must be more convenient than the charcoal markings on a wooden plank that you had to use to vote for John Quincy Adams, right?
