stuckincincy
http://apnews.myway.com//article/20081027/D9431CDG1.html Health officials shut down a suburban Buffalo restaurant after an inspector found employees butchering a dead deer inside the business. Erie County Health Department officials said they got a tip Friday about a dead deer in the China King restaurant in the town of Hamburg, just south of Buffalo. I have eaten at that restaurant. No objections to deer meat but a lot of objections to restaurant butchering game especially when they do not serve wild game. The message on the restaurant's answering machine Monday says it was closed because of "family emergencies." Emergency of family paying fines yes. This is a non-issue in western Pennsylvania... mcjeff215
Have the said whether it was in fact a hunter that shot it? Or did this dude just find it on the way into work one AM?
BillsWatch
Since it was "family emergency" I assume deer was a family pet.

Someone told me about the deer, unsuspecting that I lived about 20 minutes from the restaurant, and I said "i've eaten there before". horrified looks ensued. I'm going to guess that, if you live in areas where there is a lot of deer hunting, that you have eaten in several (if not, many) restaurants where deer was butchered. I'm guessing, and hoping, that most of those deer were prepared when the restaurant, or at least the kitchen, was closed for business, though.
