marauderswr80 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 And this is coming from a guy (me) who supported him for a very long time. Cut him.........
YOOOOOO Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 He makes the most bonehead plays...and the worst times.... fumble in Arizona....today....there wasone last year that cost us too(cant remember what game, but it was a Trent start) his play in the SD game a couple years back.... I cant wait til he is gone
Andrew in CA Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 He's pathetic.... I've never liked him, and at this point I doubt I ever will.... I don't know about a midseason cut, but he'd better not be on the team next year.... a waste of space....
drnykterstein Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I duno about cutting him... but boy do I hope Fine can help out not that he's back.
DDD Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 If Royal is the starter, just how bad are Schoumann and Fine?
mravenger Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 And this is coming from a guy (me) who supported him for a very long time. Cut him......... I think they should shoot him not cut him, he sucked today I can't believe the Fish won.
Kelso_Helmet Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 If Royal is the starter, just how bad are Schoumann and Fine? Tight End is a big problem, no doubt about it. I'm a big Schoumann fan, but also a big Boise State fan, so the bias there is obvious. Schoumann is listed at like 6'2 225? Good hands, but perhaps he's just too small. Random sampling from around the league..... Chris Cooley 6'3 249 Kellen Winslow 6'4 250 Owen Daniels 6'3 247 Kevin Boss 6'6 253 LJ Smith 6'3 258
jeanbe Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 No Sh*t. How many did he drop today? I was glad to see Schoumann catch one and hold on. We need a TE that can catch.
folz Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I was a supporter of Royal until today... I agreed that we needed to upgrade the position, but I didn't think he was as bad as most on here thought..."he had a few miscues here and there, but"...well, no more excuses after today's performance. For as good of a blocker as he is supposed to be, he hasn't seemed to help the run game, and in passing situations, if we can't send him out for a pass anymore (which we shouldn't) but use him just for pass blocking, then it means one less thing for the defense to worry about because they know he's not a threat to run a pass route. I don't blame Royal for today's loss, but I did lose faith in him coming through in a clutch situation when the team needs him. So let's see what Schouman and Fine can do...
billfan63 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 And this is coming from a guy (me) who supported him for a very long time. Cut him.........you bet , when he fumbled at a crucial time at Arizona it was just JP's forth turnover today he fumbles in Miamiand it's cut him, makes sense to me
SwampD Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 you bet , when he fumbled at a crucial time at Arizona it was just JP's forth turnover today he fumbles in Miamiand it's cut him, makes sense to me He's the modern day Ronnie Harmon. Cut him.
Nipsey Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 He's the modern day Ronnie Harmon. Cut him. Royal couldn't hold Harmon's jock. He'd fumble that too.
bowery4 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Royal couldn't hold Harmon's jock. He'd fumble that too. Funny ^^^^^^ I think he stunk again today, I was never convinced he was the answer. I don't know what is either. Try the FB out there he is a big kid.
Chandler#81 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 How 'bout this for a change up: Lynch as tight end. Yes, the OL can't seem to shove guys off at the intial contact, but ML seems to struggle alot there as well. Get him to the second level and he could break Tony Gonzalez's records. He's developing his blocking very well and -of course- he's a beast!! Jackson hits the initial hole quicker and, IMO, with better vision. We used a draft choice on Omon, whoi looked very good when given ops in pre-season. What'd we draft him for? Lynch @ TE/H-back, with Evans, Jackson, Roscoe and either Hardy/Reed puts all our best players on the field together. Just a suggestion..
eliteqb Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Put anybody but Royal as tight end . He can't catch a football....He's not good
Glass To The Arson Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Don't cut him - but please put him #3 on the depth chart
billieve2006 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Should have coughed up a 3rd for Gonzalez!
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 You can't cut him. Yes, he has been mediocre and lets the team down in critical situations. But its pretty clear that he is a leader in the locker room. If you cut him mid-season, it will do more harm than good. Just limit his reps or keep him blocking.
