SestakFan Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Look.....as much as I am for Drew riding the pines. Keep Losman on the bench until next year. You can start Matthews all you want. Remember when a young mobile QB named Archie Manning was virtually thrown to the wolves in his first year? He had no O-Line to protect him....and he got damn near killed. Why don't you think he wanted Eli to play in SD? NO OFFENSIVE LINE. The same situation exsists here. The Bills O-Line is probably worse off than SD right now. Get some O-Line help in here.....then you can start JP! GO RED SOX!!!!
SestakFan Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 Start Archie next week? Works for me. 83628[/snapback] Yep.....anyone but JP! Give him a clipboard and a headset.
Like A Mofo Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Heck, Ill settle for Bruce Mathison at this point.
/dev/null Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 couldn't agree more even if our line wasn't a sieve i'd keep him on the bench. he's still coming off an injury bledsoe is a very durable QB, with the exception of that freak chest injury in 2001, i can't recall him being out for an extended period his entire career. he does have his faults, but the man can take a licking and keep on ticking. let the guy who'll be gone in 2006 get beat on and keep JP healthy for next year
SDS Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 remember when they had leather helmets?!?!?! Makes just as much sense....

I don't want to sacrifice next year with a first time starter who is going to struggle for 8-9 games before he hits his stride. Get him those games this year (as long as he is healthy). If JP doesn't start until next year then next year will be another "rebuilding year"...it will be another year in which we say, "wait till next year". Personally, I don't want to wait until 2006 for a chance at winning. Also, I don't have faith that we'll have a stud line next year either. So JP needs to learn to play behind the line we have.
CajunBillsBacker Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 I also wouldn't want JP going into next season without any ingame experience under his belt. JP needs to test the waters sometime between now and week 17. I don't think we should start him in any games, but i'd use him in short yardage situations, especially in the goalline situations.
