Sarah Palin

Scary that McCain has gotten sucked into the our America v. their America debate with Palin leading the charge. I thought it was "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" This is not leadership, this as Noonan emphasized a recipe repeating the disaster that is and was George Bush, Dick Cheney and the assorted Neo-Cons.

But, then again, neither is Obama's "bitter people cliging to their guns and religion" mantra.

Perhaps your fellow Republicans will return to their TRUE conservative roots, rather than pandering to the "religious" right.

I don't disagree with you Joe. I think people who give there votes to third parties which have ZERO chance to win is only helping Obama. I would rather have a moderate Republican than a Liberal Democrate in the whitehouse.

I don't necessarily think that it was a conscious decision by him. I truly believe he knew nothing about Sarah Palin, other than who she was on paper. He knew he was going to lose if he didnt shake things up, he couldnt pick the guys he wanted, so he threw the Hail Mary on her, thinking that she would get the base going, get the media back to talking about him, and trying to get the Hillary vote and women. But he didnt really have any idea what she really stood for. In a sense, it worked beautifully on most of those accounts. What he didnt know was that she is a moron and completely unaware on the major issues of the day. And now a lot of the us versus them stuff was more of the throwing crap at the wall because nothing they were trying was actually working with any resonance.

Conservatives and a lot of the commentators are always saying that as soon as the economy stuff happened, McCain started to tank. While this is true, what was happening at the same time was the fact that millions and millions were starting to see what Palin was all about, and how reckless a choice it was. I was even impressed with her for a while, especially after the convention when she "performed" tremendously. But as soon as you saw her unscripted, it became clear she couldnt answer simple questions. Just as many people soured on Palin as they did soured on McCain because of the economy. And you can see it in there endorsements by people like Noonan and Adelman and Buckley et al.

P.S. Conservative Editorialist, talk show host, George H.W. Bush administration appointee, and master of ceremonies for George W. Bush in 2004 Michael Smerconish, Bush is endorsing Obama too, while dissing Palin not being ready to serve.

And let me tell you: This one shocked me. I've heard his show man times and he strikes me as just a touch off of lockstep with the Rush/Hannity crowd but still very Republican. I couldn't beleive when I read this. I didn't add him to my list because I assumed he was more of a local phenom to Philadelphia.

McCain's choice of Palin doomed his election chances. I read somewhere that this election features more independents than ever before (38%...in some states they outnumber the major parties). Think those people feel good about the selection of Palin, an ultra-right winger who doesn't read much and won't even hold press conferences?

This independent would probably have voted for McCain/(almost anyone, maybe even Romney). But not McCain/Palin.

Ironic as this is, the anti-Palin crazy protestors trying to block Palin's motorcade in Grand Junction, CO yesterday. My question is have you ever seen such a Limousine Right Wing escort!

Not exactly representative of the Average Joe. I just find it ironic that Palin and her husband a government subsidized fisherman and snowmobile racer and McCain who got his wealth the old fashion way, he married it, claim they have an infinity to the average Joe, whereas Obama came from nothing and worked his way up the ladder.

So who is the real example of the rags to riches and who is of the high brow the silver spoon in their mouth crowd. Please, unbelievable the Obama has not exploited this. Probably in part because of McCain's service supported by Daddy's shirt tails until he was captured. He then became a bit of a prodigal son, but recently has returned to being a punk on the campaign trail.

I have been trying to find the best way to describe McCain for a while... Petulant Child? Grumpy Old Man?, Nope he is just a punk who hasn't truly left his teens when he doesn't get his way.

This about says it all. Yesterday she was interviewed and answered questions sent in by Coloradans, this one was by a third grader.

Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”

PALIN: That’s something that Piper would ask me! … They’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom.

This is going to happen at some point, because James Dobson's not going to live forever.

I think we may see a return to the principles of Barry Goldwater, who is one of my few political heroes. He was the one who once said that every good Christian should kick Jerry Falwell in the (rear).

She's either an idiot and after two months of campaigning for the job still has no idea what the VP does, or she's a Cheney/Addington/Yoo disciple hell-bent on expanding the role of the VP under the Unitary Executive Doctrine. Not sure which is scarier, really. More "gotcha journalism" from thrid graders. You betcha!

Q: Brandon Garcia wants to know, “What does the Vice President do?”

Palin: That’s easy, Brandon. The Vice President works behind the scenes with groups like PNAC, AIPAC and oil company executives to form self-serving energy policies, get no bid government contracts for your friends and start unjustified wars. The Vice President also gets a man-sized safe, a bank of paper shredders and get’s their house blurred out on the Google Earth. One thing that the Vice President NEVR DOES Brandon, is leave a paper trail. Oh, and if a pesky Congress tries to ask any questions, just claim “Executive Privilege”! Works EVERY TIME! Thanks Brandon…NO MORE QUESTIONS, PLEASE!

Someone should take her outside and show her…see this?..this is your ass..See this?..this is a hole in the ground…Learn the difference..

Originally, I thought this was answering a young student, but she was actually talking to the press, referring to a student's question after she had visited a school and she got it wrong.

FINDLAY, Ohio (CNN) –- In an interview posted online Wednesday, Sarah Palin told Dr. James Dobson of “Focus on the Family” that she is confident God will do “the right thing for America” on Nov. 4.

Dobson asked the vice presidential hopeful if she is concerned about John McCain’s sagging poll numbers, but Palin stressed that she was “not discouraged at all.”

“To me, it motivates us, makes us work that much harder,” she told the influential Christian leader, whose radio show reaches tens of millions of listeners daily. “And it also strengthens my faith because I know at the end of the day putting this in God’s hands, the right thing for America will be done, at the end of the day on Nov. 4.”

She also thanked her supporters — including Dobson, who said he and his wife were asking “for God’s intervention” on election day — for their prayers of support.

“It is that intercession that is so needed,” she said. “And so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it.”
